I have the Pila charger, those exact spacers, and a set of those batteries. It all works together just fine, no jury rigging required.

You may want to note that the Pila charger comes with some plastic spacers that are screwed into the unit, and you have to use both those plastic ones with the additional aluminum ones to charge the shorty batteries.

That will work good for me.

I want to leave the included spacers in there at all times so I can charge my 14500s as well without screwing and unscrewing all the time.
So thats perfect.

thank you very much for the post. :)

i've been using aw's cr123 spacer with the pila charger, alcoa t6061 aluminum bar stock, great fit and just works:
CR123 Spacer

these would be good if you are using 18650s as well so you don't have to screw and unscrew the supplied spacer.

so if you have a p16 and p18...this would be great!

good post bugg.:)

I know this is a very old thread but I had a question about the way the batteries went in with the spacers. In the correct set up, the spacers would go in positive part facing down (for lack of a better way to explain it) and then the battery would go in positive part facing up. so that the two positives are touching right? This seems like the correct way based on how the spacers that came with it were in there and how the batteries were supposed to go in.

thanks for your help.

yes, if i understand you correctly, you have it correct. To run the 16340/18350 Screw in the Pila spacers and then put the aluminum spacers with the button part towards positive (even if you put it in backwards, it wouldn't hurt, it just not may make contact), then install the battery.
