Well I'm looking to order the CGR18650CH for my Provari I'm getting tomorrow (didn't notice i had the wrong batteries till now >_<). I'm not to sure if my current charger for my regular 18650's is going to work very well with it considering the site I'm getting it from says to have a higher quality charger.

Specs of current charger
Input: AC 100v-240V, 50/60hz, Max150mA
Output: DC 4.2V 600mAH

Hope that info helps. I'm not sure if its a low end charger or not, i did get it on amazon for 10 or 12 dollars (forget) with two batteries. I think the regular price for it was 30 dollars. Still kind of a newbie when it comes to batteries. I'm coming from owning a SB to a Provari.

Thanks in advance for any help!

That charger will work fine. It probably doesn't have real sophisticated end of charge circuitry, so just don't let the battery sit for hours once it's charged up. It should probably take about 4 hours to charge from drained to full.

Might be worth buying a $5 wall switch timer to plug the charger into. You can just set the timer for the average time it takes to charge so you don't forget and leave it in the charger all night or something.

I just so happen to have my charger sitting in front of me that I use to charge the same batteries.

My charger specs are:
Input: AC 100v-240V / 47-60hz
Output: 1.2V/700mA
4.2V/600mA

Your charger should work fine.

Use safe charging practices. Don't charge your batteries unattended. And having a multimeter on hand helps. These batteries' max charge is 4.25 and any higher is unsafe.

Get to know your charger and how it will charge the batteries. Some chargers can overcharge batteries.

Hope this helps.

Sweet, thanks for the confirmation! My current charger Ive had since last October and so far have had no over charge issues with my normal 18650's. But since from what i know these are unprotected (not sure since there a hybrid battery), I'm gonna keep a close eye on them.

Just to confirm, i can use my normal 18650's in my provari till my new batteries arrive as long as i set it to 3.7 volts, correct ? If not then tomorrow is going to be disappointing.

They are unprotected by a PCB. They're IMR/Lithium hybrids so they don't need one. They're as stable as IMRs according to Panasonic and from what I've seen in forced-failure testing where they bested AW IMRs. It's always good to keep an eye on any battery, but those Pannys are as safe, or safer, than any AW IMR.

Just as i thought. Works for me, as long as i get to fire it up and make sure its working. Plus since my SB is down and out for the moment this ego isn't cutting it ha. ....

WHAT??????? Your SB??? BLASPHEMER!!! You must mean your Smoketech Bolt, Right? Can't possibly be a Silver Bullet you're referring to, can it?

How can that be? Did it fall into a smelter? A tub of acid? Did you strap it to a stick of dynamite or fill it with nitro?

Explain yourself, heathen!! :D

lol sadly i dropped it getting out of my car and the button landed just right on a rock in my drive way and now the button don't seem to want to fire proper. I gotta hold the button just right. Plus it don't help that Ive dropped it getting out of my car a few other times. the finish on the SB didn't mix well with the lining of some of my pockets and it just slid out.

But yes sadly it was a SB. Would have been fine if it didn't hit that rock just right. That's my luck though, gonna be extra careful with my provari. I'm sure I'll end up just taking my ego when i go out, at least for now.

Man, what luck. I've dropped my BB out the window of my car at 30mph and it worked fine after bouncing off the asphalt about nine times. I wouldn't think a mere rock would have damaged it. You must have some particularly aggressive rocks in your yard. I'd remove them immediately before they kill someone or attack your car or something.
