Pandan Flavoring is awesome!

I had read about Pandan flavoring on this forum as one of the possible constituents of the good old RY4 that everyone loved. (in a post by SethG) So, I ordered some to try it out.

When I went back to the thread to post a reply, I found that I needed to be registered. So, I registered, then tried to post a reply, and found that I can't post a reply until I have posted like 5 messages in this category. This is the stupidest rule ever. The ONLY reason why I registered was to give my valuable feedback on an interesting thread. I did NOT join simply to make random comments on things until I had acquired enough posts to post where I really wanted to post.

Silly me for wanting to post in a thread that was actually talking about the subject that I am talking about... All of that being said, I will now tell you about Pandan Flavoring.

I bought some "McCormick Pandan Flavor", which is made of artificial pandan flavor and PG. And, you know what? Pandan is wonderful!!! No, its not exactly like RY4 - but I wouldn't doubt if it's one of the ingredients in the good old Dekang RY4 that everyone loved. I do my own mixing, and the first thing I did was just vape it alone with some PG. I put about 15 drops of PG in, and about 8-10 drops of pandan, and tried it out - and YUM! You can totally vape this flavor by itself. It has an almost tobaccoey quality to it - dark and intriguing.

The next thing I tried was mixing it with some blueberry eliquid that I made myself using some Blueberry Extra from The Perfumer's Apprentice (which is awesome too).... OMG - it's sooo good! Just a little bit added to my blueberry made it so much more interesting, and some real competition for the RY4 that I can't find anymore.

Thanks, SethG! I wouldn't have known about this if it weren't for you. However, because of the idiocy of the way this forum is organized, I can neither leave a PM to thank you, or reply to your thread. I hope by some random happen-stance that you actually see this message, since I probably won't ever post a message here again.

PS: If you are a member who can actually post or PM, then please pass my thanks along to SethG.

The 5 post rule keeps spam in one place where the most people are around to catch it. It keeps people here safe from from being preyed on by ripoff rebranders. I like the rule.

Thanks about the Pandan - sounds interesting. Did you need to add any sweetness?

Only thing I would be worried about is diacetyl since it is used as a custard flavor - does it list exactly what the flavoring consist of?

I did add a little bit of splendex sweetener to my final product. But, I pretty much add that to everything!. However, I tried it first without the splendex, and it was nice - all by itself (with just some PG). It has kind of a sweetness to it, although it is also dark and tobaccoey. Very difficult to put your finger on.

Don't take my statement as an attack on the forum itself, or the members of the forum. My statement was due to sheer frustration with the anti spam rules. Although I understand why you are doing it, it causes unneeded frustration. But, just because I think its a stupid rule, doesn't mean that I am personally attacking anybody. Sorry if you take offense.

The only reason I joined the forum was to make a reply post to that thread, and to thank the person who talked about Pandan. In other words, I hit reply, and it said I had to be a member to reply, and then I became a member, then tried to reply, then I couldn't. Then, I tried to thank the guy, and I couldn't... If you don't understand why that's annoying, then I can't help you. If I can't reply to a thread, then why do I see a reply button?

The stuff I got is from McCormick and its called "Pandan Flavor". It's ingredients list propylene glycol and artificial pandan flavor. All of the other types of pandan stuff I found was green and stuff, and many have coconut too, and I figured they'd kill your atty. SethG covers this in the other thread that I wanted to post to:

If you find actual flavoring that will work, let me know! I am enjoying more of my blueberry pandan right now...
