Parallel = Double the Milliamp Hours (mah), and double the amp (ie both batteries are 20amp CDR, total CDR is 40amps) as both batteries share the load balanced at same voltage
Series = Double the Voltage, have the same CDR as a single battery (20amp batteries, 20amp CDR) and same mah as a single battery (2500mah is still 2500mah)

    Hi guys,
So I was wondering if I have 2 18650 batteries in a parallel mech mod box does that mean that the amp rating is still that of one battery (20A) or does it have the amp rating of both batteries (40A)?
    Thanks in advance

    Both.
Two 20A batteries in parallel will have a 40A rating (combined).
If they are, let's say, 2500mAh each then that also combines to act as one 5000mAh battery with a 40A rating.

Since batteries don't share current prefectly evenly it's best to assume that 40A rating is more like 35A.
