There's a local guy that makes this box mods called am that are basically wooden and mechanical you know mosfet and all that. He has a bunch of different varieties but its one in particular that has me kind of lost. Its called a parallel series box. The way it works is he has 2 18650 stacked on top of 2 18650 s. The way the guy explained it to me is that you have four batteries but you're still only running 8.4 volts but you double your amperage at the same time. It kind of caught me off guard and I was wondering if somebody could explain it to me at a bit better than that.

its basically "2" 8.4V "batteries" in parallel...
when ever you series batteries you double the voltage ( considering the voltage is the same in both batteries)
and when batteries are in parallel, the voltage stays the same but in effect, the amp capacity of the parallel set "doubles"

the only issue I see with a box like that is that you have to be extremely careful with battery choices and maintainence, any mismatch in batteries can become an issue at high amp usage conditions...

This guy essentially built a small laptop battery to vape off of, though if I recall correctly most laptop batteries are a 2p3s configuration.
He should have rotated each cell 90° and built the sled for that configuration, form factor would have been better IMO.
He builds all his box mods like that he has dual and triple 18650 series boxes dual and triple 26650 series boxes also parallels and boxes with Raptor chips in them

The guy that has it is running 4 Sony vtc4 so basically is he running 8.4 volts with 120 amps or is he running 8.4 volts with 60 amps
