Oh...
I think there may be some of the lights in this shot that may be far enough to get a good focus I can use for the lightning itself. Only trying them will tell.
Some cool things about setting up for this ( and the others ) shot... While watching the lightning from the house, I had low clouds blocking most of my view, I knew it would not be a good location. So I looked at the radar and saw that in about 15-20 minutes, the location I'd used during the last storm would be "in the clear" for a while and would likely not have much rain, but that is also about how long it takes to drive there. So I gathered everything into the car as quickly as possible ( forgot my remote shutter on the coffee table though ) and headed out. It rained all of the way there but started to slack off as I got to the location. While it was still lightly raining, I went ahead and setup and started taking pics. I took pics for around 45 minutes and since I was tired, decided to call it a night. As I was heading back home.... the rain started again.
With the exception of the focus... everything was going like clockwork.... just need to work on the manual focus for lightning that is off in the distance ...
