I just did a quick count of the digital photo's I've taken since 2003
So far it's about 9000 in total... around 6400 were from 2003-2015... another 2400 since the first of this year when I got the new camera. Then there's some odds and ends here and there that weren't within the folders I'd kept in date order. I was looking at it to try and make a plan to help sort out the best of the group... instead of just picking out my own favorites which doesn't always include quality as a requirement.
Example of a favorite that really isn't a good pic... I love the hummer is looking in my direction, but I really had to zoom into the picture so the focus is wack...
Another consideration would be things such as the pics I took last night... I took 350 shots, only got 12 with lightning bolts showing in them, 3 of those were good but I think only 1 had a quality to it. Another type would be the 90+ pics I took that were merged to reduce the noise inherent in night shots, so I could get 1 good shot of a nebula. So there is a lot of redundancy in getting a pretty good pic... much of that needs backed up onto something ( DVD probably ) and remove all of the extra stuff on my hard drive that I'll never use or look at again.
I'm not sure when I'll get the urge... or enough drive... to go
through all of them... but sooner would be better than later at the rate I'm starting to take pics.
