if you use something to hold the wire in place where it comes out of the PT from the get go, it should fix the 'wiggly wire/short' issue. i use a pencil grip on mine--silicone pencil grips, about $1.50 for a pack of 10 from staples. takes some stretching to get it over the PT with the wire gently folded back along its length, but keeps the wire in place. you could just as easily use electrical tape (but not as prettily, lol). seems more reliable to me than the superglue method.

The super glue jell works great! I haven't done it to that PT yet.

Gotta buy some more. My last bottle dried up. :(

Another thing to think about is that some people have reported that their PTs just don't work well on their laptops particularly if the laptop is in power saving mode as the laptop turns the power on and off to the usb as needed...it could explain that whole hit/stop/hit/stop thing some people are experiencing...it does that on my laptop as well but when I put it on my desktop it was absolutely fine..

That's not the issue with me Drozd. The hit/stop problematic PT's do the same thing in my car and on an AC converter...it's not a powersave issue for me...Plus my other PT works fine on the laptop.

Yeah mine sticks on... I'm sure that has nothing to do with power saving. When it decides to stop working it's not when it's power saving either.

I think it's the not turning off that worries me the most anyway.... :|

Thats cool....well not cool but you know what I mean...was just bringing it up as a possibility as something that could cause the whole hit/stop thing for some people...underpowered usb ports had been discussed elsewhere in reguards to PTs and weird performance...just thought I'd mention it as a possible troubleshooting thing..

Thanks Drozd I didn't mean to come off snippy if I did. :)

I'm with DGH...wasn't trying to "poo-poo" your post D. It should have been mentioned in this thread as it could be someone's problem. I just wanted to point out that it wasn't the issue with my PT.

Outlaw, I've done the blow trick with my auto XL, but my PT's are manual...

Nope, neither came off as snippy...no worries...
like I said was just mentioning it since it happened with mine and thought mine was faulty at first too til I put it on my desktop then tried it on a portable power pack...twas more of a might wanna try this out in general kinda thing as far as the hit/stop thing goes for some people..

I just bought 2 kits that came with PT's and they both act the same like they are cutting out. I am unable to get a consistent draw off either of them. I've tried them in my laptop as well as a usb power adapter. I tried blowing in it as suggested above and thought maybe it helped, but then right back to the way it was, I get a much better draw off the batteries. The PT and batteries are auto. I kind of wish the PT worked better as you all seem to like them but then again I think I will just buy a couple more XL batteries to use as I kind of have a complex being connected with a cord.

I've got 4 PTs. 2 are 3 1/2 months old, one my wife uses on her PC one I use on mine. 2 are freebies, about 2 months old or so, one I use in front of the TV the other at work.
I had 2 others but they've gone to friends, they're around 2-3 months old.
Not one of them has failed yet, and all get a pretty high amount of use (I chain vape, so the 3 I use probably get as much or more use than the average PT)
The one at work is the best treated. The one on my home PC is always falling on the floor, and it's been stepped on a few times. The one in front of the TV is all twisty because of how it ends up.

I think my freebee ones were Steve sending me extras in case I broke one of the first ones, but apparently they will need some more hardcore abuse - perhaps dogs or children... I've only got cats and a teenager. But the extras have gone to good homes/good use, so can't complain :)

All the same, I am planning on getting one of the new PTs, just cause i use PT so much and if the new ones are better in any significant way to the current ones which I suspect they will be, I'm gonna want one :p
