Yup, The "light thingie" is The LED Thats Under The Ash Cap (Covers the "light thingie") That U pulled It Out Off. Yes You Can Hot Glue It Easy, or Dab Of Silicone. Other People Have Used Other Glue or Tape As Well. Try Not To Use Anything That Is Bad to Breathe...

The Cord Retainer Is Really The Weak Spot If Your Not Careful and / or Snag it. But usually A Quick Glue Fix If The Wire Is Not Off Or Broken!

The wire is what is loose not the cap. Well I think the wire is loose. The cap will have to be pried off I imagine. I've tried using a thin knife to pry it off, doesn't come off so easily, don't want to break it more.

OK Thats A Little Clearer, The Wire Is Pulling Off Inside Behind The Ash Cap.

I Don't Know What You Have For Tools, Time, Patients Or Skills But Heres Some Quick Options:

1) The Ash Cap Will Come Off But May Break & Be Careful. There Are Sometimes 2 Dimples On The Side Of The Plastic Cap To Use To Pry it Off, But It Is Extremely Brittle Plastic Usually, So It May Break, Once Off You Will See What To Do Or Not Do and Can Make A Decision On What You Are Willing To Do.

2) Easier: See If You Can Keep In A Working Position & Hot Glue, Epoxy, Crazy Glue It.

Hope That Helps :D

This is really awful btw. One of my 901 bats died a few days ago. I have 1 901 bat, a few 901 attys and 2 4081 bats, but only 1 atty. I left the 4081 atty and a battery at my mom's last week. She lives 90 miles away so I only visit once every week or so. So currently I have ONE 901 bat and the passthru. And now that I've taken the pt apart, it's not working at all, lol. dang dang dang

The tiny little wires inside the equally tiny wire coming from the USB plug are broken. The flexing experienced at the point it goes through the cap is breaking them. PERHAPS, globbing on glue or taping it down will prevent that. Perhaps it will just make a new "flex point" that will break it anyway.

The best thing I found was to put a small glob of clear silicone on the end, and taper it out to a point on the wire. Not pretty, but functional.

I haven't had any luck with wiggling it back in shape or glueing it :(

But, Eastmall got back to me quickly after I wrote them and told them it hadn't lasted long. They credited my account with it. That made me happy. Now I just have to wait until they get more passthroughs in(he said next week). Thanks for you help guys.
