I don't know. If Kgo is switchd voltage like Ego (for an average of 3.4v) than the Riva 510 kits at Liberty-Flights.com would be a slight step up to real 3.7v. But if Kgo is 3.7 then it would be a sideways step. We know the kits at liberty-Flights.com are all 3.7v new stock from the correct manufacturer.

GotVapes sometimes has 3-stage voltage (clone) Ego in stock - does 3.2v, 3.7v, 4.2v (which i heard is more like 3.9v - I don't feel much difference between it and 3.7)

Real variable voltage would be an upgrade but for under $100 I think you can only get ones built in plastic battery boxes.

Check out the E-Power 14650. It is an ego type mod that uses non-proprietary batts and has a 510 connection. Everything is replaceable and can be bought seperately so its very cost effective. Well under 100 bucks.

It will tell you why its a good choice, where to get it, (CCV), etc. It costs 57 bucks and Youll get a free 30ml juice, free 5 pack of awesome cartos, free shipping, etc. (At least 25 bucks in free stuff!)

Buying a new battery for an E-Power costs $4 bucks compared to a new battery for ego/Kgo/Riva $14-20 bucks

I think i'll get that then, do they perform better than the kgo? Also, what about the 18650, did they fix the button problem yet or should i just stay with the 14650?

I think it performs better and its just so much more versatile. I wrote this in another post bc someone asked about it so Im gona copy&Paste it.

This was the previous post:

"Mostly the switch problem was with the 18650 model but i heard of a few people having the problem with the 14650 model. What it was, was that the switches button was rubber and after awhile it would start to get stuck, not stay in place, fall out, wear out, etc. For some reason(not sure why), the 18650 model switch was a lesser quality than the 14650 and A LOT of people were complaining it would wear out and stop working. The 14650 had a similar problem, just a lot less. The problem was fixed though because they came out with a new switch and got rid of the rubber button all together. The new switch has a plastic button like the Joye and works great. I have been using it non-stop and havent had the slightest problem with it. And even if down the line there is some kind of problem, you can buy a new switch with the plastic button for under 10 bucks. Remember, ALL parts of the E-Power are replaceable."

I know it has been fixed on the 14650, but im not sure if they did on the 18650(I dont have one).
Whatever you get you want to make sure it comes with the plastic button and not the rubber one. The CCV kit i recommended comes with the plastic button switch.

The 18650 is alittle fatter but I have heard people like it. What I have noticed tho is that it seems to be a lot harder to find replacement parts for the 18650. Not really sure why but only a few vendors carry them. The 14650 parts are sold from many vendors.

Great to read you're sharing your KGO with your FIL. It could be life-changing for him. Very thoughtful of you. If you want to move up to something better than a fat batt, you have choices out the wazoo. Whether you want a box design, top feeder, bottom feeder etc.

I don't know of another Fat Batt that delivers like a KGO. I've tried the Riva but not since they started advertising 3.7v. The Kgo hits like a mod with a LR atty or carto and the power stays steady rather than dwindling and you know how long those batts last. That's why I'm a fan of it. I thought it was the only PV in the Fat Batt class that delivers all those benefits. I hope the new Riva does. That would be very cool to have another option.

This thread might be helpful for Kgo info: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ego-type-models/187735-slb-ego-kgo-1100-a.html

I agree with w2w on most things except the epower. They're new to market and the one that would give you the nice, big hit with the 18650 battery has had major issues with resellers pulling them off the shelf. They'll prolly be a nice inexpensive alternative one day but not yet imo. If I were choosing something bigger and better AltSmokes Silver Bullet would be at or near the top of my list. It's nearly double the price of an epower but built to last a lifetime. Good idea to stay with a 510 connection so your supplies are interchangable. You and your FIL can share bulk orders on cartos/attys and save some coin also. Happy shopping. Hope you find the PV that's just what you're looking for :)

thats why I went with the 14650 and not the 18650 bc the 14650 wasnt having those problems.

The E-Power has a regulated 3.7V switch so it will not drop in performance as you drain the battery.

Regardless of what you decide, youve got a lot of good info to help you make a good decision.

Everyone has their preference. I love my E-Power and I know plenty of people that love their eGos/Rivas.

Either way, I dont think you can go wrong. Goodluck with it and let us know how it goes!

I'm not saying it's a bad pv, it's not. But the kgo that he had is a good pv. If he wanted 'more' from a pv, he probably needs to move out of the bigger battery pvs and move on to a mod, maybe a vv mod.

I'm happy with egos, it delivers what I need and want. For me, it's about longer battery life and maybe different juice delivery systems. If I was looking for a better vaping experience, that's what I'd do.

Not that I'd say no if someone wanted to give me a Reo!

Or can someone recommend a good kit, modded or not that is better than kgo preferably with 510 connection. By kit i mean batts, charger, etc for under 100$

If you want to step up, how 'bout a VV Infinity Pro with a charger/batt kit for $111 plus shipping? Use coupon code ECF Buzzkill to get that price.

This uses the same circuitry as the Buzz Pro. I have two BPs and luv 'em.

Nice thing you're doing for your FIL. Good luck in your quest!

    in a cave, eh?
Yeah, a variable volt like the Infinity Pro or Buzz Pro is easier to manage if you're looking into mods. :)

    ----

I was just going to add that with the RoughStack kit, you'd probably also want to consider getting two extra 16340 batteries or even an 18650 battery and a regular 2.3 ohm 510 atomizer as backup to round out the kit. That's where the mods get you: buying all the accessories to keep your kit going. :)

    Heyas,

Don't know if you'd be interested in this or not, but

    BogeTech Revolution V2.1

3.7v bottom feeder for 40 bones + ~$5 shipping. Battery, charger and all the works included, plus a box of boge cartos.

I just ordered one today, so don't know how well it works. Sharp enough looking unit though.

    Happy hunting,
