So I love the Joye products, haven't tried Ruyan.

Ruyan is original patent holder, so are they getting royalties from all these other manufacturers?

Or are the manufacturers finding ways around the patent? I do know Ruyan's original atty design is ultrasonic, and Joye and others are nichrome heating element, maybe that was the workaround.

What's the deal with US companies like LibertyStix? Are they 100% foreign-independent? I find that hard to believe. Are they paying royalties?

In 2023, when original patents expire, anyone in the world will be able to make these e-cigs to the exact specifications, including BT, BP, anybody. Correct?

I need more knowledge on issues regarding PATENTS...

Fortunately most Chinese manufacturers do not worry about patent infringement, and will go ahead with the best / least expensive technology regardless is another firm can claim IP protection. That's why the Chinese firms innovate and advance technology much faster than many western nations, because they are not slowed down by the market-harming effects of IP protection, like patents.

Hon Lik is the patent holder for both e-cigs and juice ( primary patent number EP20040718242) . The patent was filed March 28th 2004. Patents for a new manufacturing device and or process as a rule have force of law for 20 years.

It is imposable to claim a patent infringement in a jurisdiction where the said item is illegal nor would any such patent even be recognized. Royalties paid to the patent holder for granting license to manufacture by a 3rd party would be imposable for the same reason.

All said and done Mr. Lik is SOL it would be like trying to patent how to make crack ........
