Too bad I can't read Chinese. I contacted a manufacturer and they reported having their own patents due to a different atomizer design. I wonder, even if Ruyan wins all of this jazz (ha ha, get it? Ruyan Jazz! ), how much of a difference can they effect? I mean, the way I see it, since many manufacturers are getting more business than Ruyan, they'll just settle a lawsuit and go on about their business! And that's worst-case scenario... Anyways, I think this is something I'll keep an eye on, but I'm not going to poop any large hard objects over the matter.

I am not mentioning which supplier because they said they would like to keep a low profile at the moment.

Ruyan's Big Lie

Right now, there is big news from some company announcing that E-Cig is an illicit manufacturer of electronic cigarettes and accessories and has been ordered by the court to destroy all of its existing stock of inventory and agree to never engage in the electronic cigarette business again.

It is true that Ruyan made a lawsuit against E-Cig for the Infringement for the Ruyan's patent No. 200420031182.0. However, after thoroughly examining the case, the Court has made finally the following declarations:

1. All the E-Cig products, such as E-Cigarette, E-Cigarillo, E-MiniCig, E-Cig E8, E-Cig E9, USB-ecig U8, USB-ecig U9, USB-ecig U9m etc. are using it's own new technology actually. There is no Infringement for the Ruyan's patent No. 200420031182,0.

2. E-Cig is legally licit manufacturer of the electronic cigarettes products. E-Cig has the right to continuously produce and market the E-Cig products.

After the Court, the both parts agree again to do not make any announcement in any news or advertisement with wrongful mispresentation of the court decision for the business purpose.

For some ulterior selfish motives, Ruyan has violated the agreement and made such a terrible big lie against the Court claims. By making such a terrible big lie, Ruyan tried to have the world know that E-Cig would be closed. We understand very well Ruyan was really dreaming that E-Cig would be out of the business so that they could monopolize the electronic cigarette market with the outdated technology.

Actually, the technology applied in the Ruyan's patent No. 200420031182.0 was very bad, so that E-Cig had invented the new technology with the other manufacturer to meet the market needs. The E-Cig atomizing technology and it's products have been innovated a lot since the first generation of the electronic cigarette.

By providing constant innovation and highly competitively-priced products, E-Cig has become the world's #1 choice for the electronic cigarette products; E-Cig.com has become the world largest B to C and B to B commercial website for the electronic cigarette products. Ruyan can not monopolize and control the electronic cigarette market any more.

For developing the E-Cig products, we have the Patents: 2006301649379, 2006301649383, ZL2006 2 0135072.8, ZL2005 2 0031712.6 and applied the patents with the patent pending number: 200620119250.8, 200620167599.9, 200820005536.2, 200510017951.0, and 200710054948.5. Our comprehensive products which represent the new generation of electronic cigarette products are completely different from Ruyan products from the inside structure to the outside looking. We will continuously do our best to provide the constant innovation.

According to Ruyan's stupid philosophy, Ruyan was and should be forever the only licit manufacturer of electronic cigarettes and accessories with its outdated technology, all the others should be illicit manufacturers, no matter how are your patents, no matter how are your advanced technologies, no matter how are your innovative products......

We will never be closed. On the contrary, we have cleared the garbage products which could not meet the market needs, and concentrate now on our own new products; and we will be growing much quicker and quicker again.

I own two pipes and a lot of "parts" from e-cig and I have 2 janty Yentyls, so both companies are places I buy from but it just seemed from the few pages near the beginning of this tread that it has been unbalanced anda bit of unfortunate misunderstanding as to the results of Ruyan's law suit.

LAS VEGAS, NV - Following a tiresome patent infringement lawsuit, E-Cig says it is moving on with new innovative electronic cigarette products. The company has been battling to protect its product line after a manufacturer called Ruyan took the company to court over patent rights in February 2009.
Unfortunately, following the lawsuit Ruyan released statements that E-Cig was ordered to never manufacture or market its electronic cigarettes again. E-Cig has denied these claims. (I haven't posted 15 posts so I removed this line)

According to E-Cig, there was a lawsuit for the infringement of Ruyan's patent No. 200420031182.0. E-Cig says, however, the court ruled that there is no infringement for its new product line and that E-Cig is using its own new technology.
Though there's a definite discrepancy in what both parties are stating, E-Cig plans to move forward with the release of a new improved line of electronic cigarettes. Four of the new items are the E-Cig E8, E9, U8 and U9. The E-Cig E8 and E9 products use special rechargeable batteries and chargers, and the E-Cig U8 and U9 can be charged by connecting to a computer through the USB plug without the special rechargeable batteries and chargers. The E-Cig U8 is the smallest electronic cigarette of the world actually, which has exactly the same size as the traditional cigarette.
With such new, innovative E-Cig products, the smokers will be able to feel and smoke much more like they're smoking a traditional cigarette than any other electronic cigarettes, without the risks of smoking and of tobacco.
"The new models are equipped compactly with our new generation of the atomizer and cartridge, which are combined into only one piece with our new atomizing technology," states Sam Han, owner of E-Cig Technology Inc. Ltd.
So what exactly are electronic cigarettes? These are battery-powered or USB-powered cigarettes that operate with an e-liquid cartridge. They provide a healthy, affordable alternative to smoking real cigarettes. They look and feel like real cigarettes, but produce a vapor mist instead of smoke. Users can choose their E-Cig product with varying nicotine densities, selecting less nicotine than a usual cigarette or even no nicotine at all for a healthier choice.

I'm reading these posts regarding the Ruyan suit and I'm a little concerned. I recognize the right of a patent holder to enforce, however perhaps they should consider licensing their competitors to manufacture the product. I would be willing to venture a guess that they would not be able to keep up with total world demand for pvs. Having recently tried one of their atomizers for the mini they sell (RN407*) I can truly say that the DSE901 atomizer is better. I really don't know who makes the DSE series, but I like them a lot. I've heard good things about the M series and I'm waiting for one right now. I just hope that they don't strictly stifle the innovations that we need here in the marketplace. Anyway as someone said, there is more than one way to atomize fluid. This may lead to breakthroughs in the ultrasonic atomization that I've heard about. Then again there is always good old butane. Don't worry, where there is a will, there is a relative ;-) I mean a way! Anyway, happy vaping!
