ok... i'm not trying to be critical or a smarta$$. first of, if your coils are to be touching each other they should all be touching. neatness counts here. the coils should also be elevated to be equal to the air holes on your top cap and aligned evenly so both sides will be centered in front of your air holes. the trimmed ends of your leads should be clipped as short as possible to the post (or you could do the winding method to break them off). IMO opinion if you get a reading other than near your target, something isn't right and should NOT be fired. watch as many video's and go to the coil building forum. i'm sure you will find out everything you need to know... best of luck and be safe!

glad it worked out.. better late than never on my part.....:D

Yeah that's a lot. My Kayfun is at 1.4 ohms 28 gauge 7 wraps on a screwdriver shaft that is roughly 5-6mm. This is what's called a macro coil or mega coil. Whatever it is a large diameter. If you want smaller diameter go smaller diameter wire as well. Micro coils are better when done on 30 and 32 gauge kanthal. The way you have that wrapped will create a dry area in the middle where ejuice will fry. The wick can only carry the ejuice past the hot edge so far ya know. So long coils make an inconsistent vape by having middle taste scorched and the edges under cooked.

For my patriot I just checked. I made it at 1.5 ohm dual coil setup so each coil is almost 3 ohms. 8 wraps 32 gauge kanthal on a 3mm silica wick loosely wrapped.

I did this build so it would work on the Vamo V5 regulated mod. It has a low ohm limit at 1.2 ohms. On a mech with a high amp battery you can drop the wraps to like 4-5 and get down to the .7 ohm range.
