Im not sure exactly what you ment when refering to letting your wick dry but I don't let my wick dry. Its always saturated in juice. However that being said I change it out every few days but I'm also only putting roughly 11 watts through a diamond coil. Another reason I don't do it more often is because its a PITA to change the wick!! Some people change the wick daily because of the build they have or the wick materials. Honestly its what ever gives you the best taste in combination with you build and juice.

I don't use any RDA's but I do use several Kayfun Lite +'s. Maybe every 2 tanks depending on the liquid used and how much of it.

Haven't yet changed a coil except to test out new wraps, number of wraps and ohmage, and just dry burn the coil and re-wick with new cotton.

I'll also change out the cotton to test size and placement of said cotton.

You can tell when the cotton needs to be changed by visually inspecting it. If it looks NASTY it needs to be changed. I took apart one of my Kayfun's this morning and the cotton looked fine. Yes it had a color to it but it wasn't all clogged up and filthy looking. So I just refilled the tank. Vaping fine just like it did yesterday morning when I put the cotton in that particular Kayfun.

But on average I re-wick every couple of days which is about 2+/- tank fulls.

I change flavors a lot; so I change wicks whenever I make a flavor change. It's pretty easy, especially with cotton wicks. In my mesh gennies, I don't re wick often. I just dry burn the coil in between flavor changes.
Wicks, regardless of the material, don't simply just dry out. The only way a wick gets dry is if it's not being supplied with juice at the same rate it's being vaped off.

Depends on the wicking material. Stainless steel mesh - lasts a bloody long time. Silica - with dry burning can also last a long time. Cotton - needs to be replaced every few days.

I personally have switched to cotton with micro-coils in all my devices - even my Genesis tank. It is super easy to yank out the wick and thread a new piece of cotton, the flavor is out of this world, coils last damn near forever, and cotton is super cheap and readily available.

Since getting my Patriot clone I find that my wicks become not so great pretty quickly, it dries up fast so im wondering how long you keep your wick before changing it? And do toy build more coils or just swap wick?

I'll assume you're using cotton wicks. I change mine about every second dry burn. Most of my juices are pretty 'gunky' and I dry burn a coil about every 5 ml of juice. With a juice that's very easy on coils I can get about 20 ml through it before I have to dry burn.

I've gotten good at changing cotton and I'm more inclined to replace the wick every time I dry burn.

Takes me about a minute and cotton is almost free so it's not like it costs me anything.

Vape on :)

Yea ive been changing mine like roughly everyday but I dont have many juices to choose from so that could change to more times a day

For changing juices, I've found most times I can do that without changing the wick and be just fine. Doesn't work so well from one really strong flavor to another, but other than that all is good. Try it and see how it goes for you. You can always change the wick later.

I was changing my cotton wicks every tank with a slap full kayfun, mainly because I'm a flavor chaser, vape sugary bakery fluids, and I can't stand a gunky coil. Now that I've switched to rayon, I've vaped three tanks so far and the flavor hasn't gone south yet, coil still looks better than it did after one tank with cotton :)

It just wicks SO much faster; wet coils won't caramelize nearly as quickly.
