yes, people that do mods have need for spare parts found in those things and we have karrmcdebt on this forum who would be glad to receive those useless, to us, batteries and attys. i'm sure there are others here but i know about karr since he very graciously offered to fix a mod that got to me doa!

I (think) a dead 901 or 808 attie can be used to make a 510 passthrough/battery box and a dead 510 attie can be used to make a 808/901 passthrough/battery box. I could be wrong but I thought they were the same threads, just 901 batts were male threads, 510 were female?

Atty's are like toasters. You have to find some soft high restistance wires i believe and be able to pump enough current through them.

Nope, different threads. You can use a dead m401 atty to make a 510 batt mod, or a dead 510 atty to make a m401 batt mod.
902 is a 510 with longer threads. You can use a 510 on a 902 but not a 902 on a 510.
The 4081 is reverse threads to the 901, but longer so they are not interchangable.
