What a sweet idea Drozd! Just when you think mankind is at it's selfish worst - someone comes along to remind you that it isn't so! [I've seen plenty of kindness and generosity on this forum]. The people on this forum amaze me daily!

Good luck to all those who have / or will enter this give-away!

Like I've said...thank you all for your kudos for this idea...but it wasn't originally my idea..back in Jan a fellow ECF person ran the exact same type of thing in which he bought several of us that won our choice of mods..that directly gave me the ability to give away the extra stuff I'd been hoarding...and while I wish I had the ability to make such a grand gesture as he, I'm just not at that financial place right now..and while I don't look forward to having to make a choice on this, by doing it publicly maybe it'll help inspire others to do likewise with some of their extra stuff...or who knows maybe inspire others to privately contact some of the people who post and offer them an extra battery they aren't using or some other small act of random kindness...

Well I'll put up a story for a friend of mine.

She recently just had to move back in with her mum because she keeps having seizures that doctors cannot find any reason for.

These seizures caused her to lose her job and her license because this is the second time she's had a seizure while driving. First time she totalled her car because it ran into a wall while she was unconcious from the seizure. The second time her friend saved the vehicle (though it's been impounded) but not before it went across the freeway into oncoming traffic.

She also has only 1 lung functioning and just can't quit ciggies. I've given her a reg batt and a USB charger along with some cartos but it's not enough for her to get by so she's still smoking cigarettes.

I'd love to get her only vaping. I know she won't have a problem with the PG since it's in the solution for her nebuliser.

She's also permanently on coumadin because of a stroke she had a few years back as well.

I have a co-worker who is an elementary school lunch monitor (very low paid and no benefits). I'm the counselor at the school. Her other job laid her off 1.5 years ago. The job market/economy in this area is still terrible (as in many places)!!

I would like to nominate her. I loaned her my hubby's kit for 2 weeks and my hubby & I just shared. She fell in love with it and was able to get off analogs while I was loaning it to her but I had to take it back for my hubby and now she's back on analogs.

Her story: She is one of the nicest and coolest people I have ever met!!! She is so hard up for cash that she has been hand-rolling analogs for the past year. She has 2 sons that are in 7th and 4th grade. Her 7th grader has Muscular Dystrophy (look it up if you don't know how TERRIBLE this disease is) and has been in a wheelchair for many years. He has a personal care assistant with him at school for toileting issues, use of elevators, and other movement related issues. His mom (my co-worker that I'm nominating) DOES IT ALL when he is at home including taking care of him (including all of his disability needs) and his sweet little brother. She spends all of her time with her kids and is a FABULOUS MOTHER!!!!

She has been smoking for over 25 years and feels she needs to quit now so that she can ensure that she will be there for both of her sons. She has tried to quit many times in her life with no success. I can certainly relate to that!!

I have asked her to sign up for this forum to post her story herself since she knows her life better than I do....but I'm not sure how shy she is, computer savvy she is, etc.

So I will re-post after she does if she ever does post...but I assure you that she is IN NEED and her kids really need her too!!!! She's had a hard life and it isn't getting any easier. Please help her and her family out!!!

Thanks for your consideration!!!!!!!!!!

Born and DMS: YOU ROCK!!!!!!

Here is a small quote from my reply to DMS:
"I actually just called her due to the QUICK response (didn't expect it)....since I didn't even have her permission to post for her...OOPS!!! She asked "People aren't gonna start showing up at my door are they (semi-chuckle)?" I told her I could use my address and she said that she was SUPER cool with that and suddenly sounded VERY EXCITED!!!
SO THANK YOU BOTH SOOOO MUCH!!! Sad story and such a FUN person!!!!

GOOD KARMA!!!

AND THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR THE "Second" on the nomination!!!!!

I have a neice, whose husband was in a motorcyle wreck and is going to be disabled from working the rest of his life. These kids are late twenty's and have three kids. She
has a minimum wage job, the was just for their extra money. Now, he may have to have to have gall bladder surgery (this is after neck, both shoulders and knee operations) and no insurance, the wreck. Family is helping with bills. She is trying to cut back on smoking, but not having very good luck. I share my supplies, but about to run out. (My next construction job won't start for a few more weeksand not been working for a couple months myself.) I planned on getting her a kit, when I start working again, but this sure would help, now.
Thanks for your wonderful kindness, and willing to give someone a start.

Drozd,

I don't have any gear to speak of as I just started myself; I have four batteries (one of them doesn't like me much), but I'll be happy to share some of my cartos in tobacco flavors (unused and unopened, of course). I'll be happy to send them to the person you find most needing our help.

Thanks for doing this.
