I don't get it. Every time this happens the suppliers lose a few days and get a merchant account or some other way to provide a payment system. If Paypal thinks they are having some kind of long lasting impact on the industry they should see that they are not and just stop this crap.

What makes you think they're trying to affect the e-cig "industry"? Maybe they just don't want to get involved with something that is on the fence with the FDA? They are a private business and can decide for themselves who they want to do business with, after all.

I really like this forum, but it seems like a lot of the posters have a persecution complex and are full of wild conspiracy theories.

I've already got a chip on my shoulder when it comes to PayPal... Particularly when it comes to selling on eBay... It's not enough that you have to pay a "Final Value Fee" on top of your listing fee, and recurring monthly charges, but PayPal has to take a cut for handling the transaction? They're the same freaking company!

I wonder if it would be enough to get PayPal's attention if all the e-cig suppliers agreed to move to another service en masse?

it's called 'shenASHagains

My understanding is that ASH sent letters suggesting some sort of possible/perceived/imaginary/fabricated liability -
and since 'lord' ASH - the great and powerful 'B' is attempting to insight/initiate/instigate or fabricate a variety of 'actions' in regards to e-cigs... maybe their P Pals find themselves ashuming the wholeash propoganda is ashurate.... ooops - accurate.

Laughterhouse,

Not me... no tin foil here. Really I'm not crazy...... Really I don't think everyone is after me....Hey did you see that!... never-mind just the shadows..

Anyhow I just think that everything comes down to the almighty $$. Paypal wants to make money right? So their "campaign" (Sorry another conspiracy word) seems kinda out of place.

I just went to Vermont Vapor, and they had this message up and the site was inaccessible.

From Vermont Vapor's web site:

The site is currently down for unscheduled maintenance because PayPal thinks we sell drugs,
so we are unable to process online sales until we get a new provider. (Should only be a day or two)

Oh no! :(

Vermont Vapors was the place I went to in order to get my first PV. In fact I was going to place an order for eliquids from them yesterday, but decided that since Johnson Creek was having a sale, I'd give them a shot and go back to Vermont Vapors the next time I needed juice. Hopefully Adam and Linda get the site up and running again soon 8-o.

Whew, just checked the site and despite PayPal screwing them over, they're still taking order via money order methods AND working on switching over to a new merchat service! Woohoo!

Paypal ALWAYS does the CYA thing. However since they own the market they go off the rails. I understand protecting your market share and brand but to me they seem to be a market bully, hence slowly killing market share with buyers, not just sellers. Do I think they will remain number one for at least the next decade, yes. Do I think they have blue chip upper managment, no. Just my two cents.
