Another PCC question...or questions:

I just got my first PCC .... just have a lot of batts. When I screw in a freshly charged batt the red light goes on and seems to stay on for at least 2 hours before I unscrewed it and thought I may be draining both batts for all I know.

Also: When out and about...what do the lights mean?

Thanks a bunch and vape ON!!

PCC Instructions

Plug the PCC into a USB port on your computer.

The top light (closest to the case hinge) is for the PCC's battery- when it's red the CASE is charging, It turns green when it's done charging and will stay that way until it is unplugged from the USB port.

Once its on the charger you can place your battery into the PCC and charge your battery. To do this you screw the battery into the metal threads and the BATTERY will start flashing then the LED on the PCC with turn solid red.

The bottom light is for the VK battery - It is off when no battery is present, if a VK battery is charging it is solid red, and when your VK battery is fully charged it flashes on and off.

I hope this help some people..

Just got a new pcc and a new shorty manual battery. The red Led does not turn off or start blinking. I have left the battery charging in the case over night and it's still on. I have tried charging an old shorty manual in the case and it works fine. I have been using the new shorty with the wall charger with no problem. Was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or has a fix? The case does charge the new battery but it does not indicate when it is fully charged.

It won't stay red. Watch it for a little bit, the light will come on and go off again. It's not a quick flash though, it takes several seconds or even minutes for this to happen.

Trust me it stays on. I have tested with my old shorty and I have seen what you are talking about. I have also tried it with my reg. Bat. And it works like it should. I have noticed that once in a while I will notice that the led on the battery flash like you just put it in the charger but the red light never starts blinking like with the other bats. The new battery does charge and work like it's fully charged but the case just dosent indicate it.

I have the PCC as well, since March and it has always worked the same: top light, for when the PCC itself is charging, is red when charging and turns green when done.

Bottom light for battery turns red when you screw the batt on, but does not always stay red. Sometimes it stays on for a few minutes, and the goes off for a few minutes. Then it may turn back on again for several minutes. Depends on how much 'charging' the batt actually needs. If I just charged the batt on the wall charger, and place it in the PCC, the red light may stay on for a minute or less, but then cuts off. I'll remove the batt, use it for a few minutes, screw it back in and the light stays red for several minutes, then cuts off again. I only see it stay on continuously when the batt is dead or near dead, and needs to be fully charged. But it eventually always cuts off when the batt is fully charged. Or as fully charged as the PCC can accomplish. Does that help any? It sounds like yours is working just fine. I wouldn't worry too much about the lights unless it stops charging the battery.

Yeah I think it works fine with all my other batteries. It's just the new shorty I got with the kit. I have let it sit in the pcc for over half a day now and the red battery lite has stayed on constant with no blink or flicker at all. I have used the battery till it was dead and tried fully charging on wall charger. But when it's in the pcc, the red light stays constant. I am only concerned because this kit was ordered for someone else and I don't want to give a new user all the confusion and frustration.

I know that the lights can be confusing and all, but if it has been on there for half a day, it is probably charged up. Go ahead and take it off. Try it out, and see if it vapes. If it does, it is more then likely charged. I would say you need to charge the battery around 2 hours if it is a shortie.

You might try to contact customer service as they probably have a better idea on this issue between the new shortie vs the pcc.

Is it charging the battery only when the light is on, and does that constitute a depletion of one of the charges which limits the life of the battery?

I just woke up, so I apologize if some of this is worded funny...

This isn't how battery charge cycles work. There is no set number of charges, any thing you have read is just an estimate. And if you only charge a battery halfway, that's only half of a charge cycle, not a full one. Feel free to top off, run it til it's dead, whatever. It won't hurt the battery or mess up your count, or shorten the life of the battery any more than normal use will. This is only the case in older Ni-MH batteries, not any newer lithium batteries.

Yeah the battery works and is being charged by the pcc. Left the battery in the pcc all day and it never indicated that the battery was fully charged. Red light finally went off, but it was because it kept charging the battery till the pcc ran out of juice. Pcc was fully charged this morning.

Some guidelines so this doesn't happen (the PCC will leak electricity if it is connected to a battery, even if the battery is full):

Shorty-1 hour to 1 1/2 hrs
Standard - 2 hours
XL - 3 hours

If you keep the batteries connected only this amount of time, they should be about fully charged, and won't drain the pcc much more than it has to.
