just wondering if getting a PCC is worth it over a normal case

my RN4081 starter kit only comes with a mians charger so i was thinking about getting a PCC for the usb charging, and it could double as a case, but a usb charger only costs £5, a normal case costs £5 so why should i buy a PCC that costs £20 (although there is a PCC that comes bundled with a 4081 Battery, Atty and 5 Carts for £23 that i was tempted by)
i was just wondering how people feel about PCCs, and whether they are worth the cost?

I'm not familiar with that particular mod PV, but when I bought my Joye 510 many months ago I also purchased the PCC. My PCC contains a rechargeable l-ion battery, holds a spare battery, two carts and an atty. Fully charge it will re-charge a dead battery at least 4 times before it needs to be recharged via a USB port.

For me the PCC was a great idea being able to charge a battery on the go. The worst thing is to be somewhere and have no battery power. However the standard 510 batteries only lasted me about 2 hours (max) each and constantly recharging/changing batteries I found a little inconvenient so started making mods with larger battery capacity. A simple NicoStick with a 14500 battery lasts about 7-8 hours and my current mods with an 18650 battery lasts me two full day.

A PCC is good if you want peace of mind knowing that it can recharge batteries on the go and that's pretty much the only advantage of it.

Just my thoughts.

thanks for your thoughts shortstuff. it seems to me that a PCC is probaly better for someone who is away from a power supply for long stretches, and is a heavy user, as a light user who is never really away from a plug socket or a usb for any great length of time, i think i'll generally always be alright if i make sure i have at least 1 fully charged battery with me, thanks for your reply!

I like my PCC. It came with a battery, so it was a pretty good deal. I use it as a secondary carrying case. Each morning, I leave home with:
  • My PCC, which carries one battery & two cartos
  • My starter kit carrying case, which carries one battery & 4 cartos
  • An altoid box, that carries a USB charger and 20 cartos

With that set up, I use a little center section of my purse and am ready for pretty much any emergency.

Funny thing is, I hold on to my PV like a teddy bear the entire time that I'm home and hardly vape at all at work. But I'm prepared!

I think a pcc case is really rather good for smaller devices, the 4081 is one of those. I didn't know they did a pcc for a 4081, guess I never really looked. If it's a cost issue and you are going along fine then maybe it is a just an extra cost, I know those with a PCC tend to think they are great. Then they get an eGo/Riva.
