PDX local, relatively new to vaping...

Hi all,

My name is John, always avoided gaping due to my aversion to synthetics but got exposed to 100% VG during a trip to Florida in December... Figured I'd give it a try, so I picked up a "wanna be Blue" type ecig with 100% vg from this joint.

Coming home, naturally, that wasn't enough, and I wanted to get away from any possible artificial flavors, as well as going with assuredly all American made ingredients.

Back in PDX, I picked up a Kamry 103 and organic 100% vg juice from Virgin Vapors as my first "semi-serious" kit... No kidding, had to clean the unit no less than 3-5 times a day, coils (1.8ohm in a Protank 2) were burning out every 2-3 days, even after experimenting with removing one of the flavor wicks and/or flipping the silicone seal.

A few days ago, I picked up an iTaste SVD as my first venture into variable voltage... Gotta say, LOVING the flexibility of the unit (temp, volume and flavor), generally using wattage 7-9, working much better than the K103 but even using 2.2ohm (still Protank 2 on the iTaste SVD) I'm burning coils out on an average of one per day, still using Virgin Vapor's 100% vg.

Spent a fair amount of time in both my local "serious" vape shops, Vapor Lounge and Division Vapor... Really enjoy the vibe in the Division shop (owner Paul is a great guy), but they've not been able to help cure my ails.

I really do enjoy vaping, but it's starting to feel like I'm perpetually chasing the ghost in the machine - patience is running thin.

Any experienced advice for this newbie?

Thanks in advance! :)

between here and there
Welcome to ecf.

Is your ejuice really thick? VG tends to gunk up the coils faster and doesn't wick as fast as pg or a mix of vg+pg. Maybe on your next order of ejuice you could put in the notes to thin a little with distilled water. If they do it at the shop then the flavor won't be diluted. Just a thought.

good luck

:)

if you have been vaping for a while and feel like its helping but its just giving you that "fix" your looking for so your smoking analogs. you can try WTA e-liquid
WTA stands for Whole Tobacco Alkaloid. Tobacco has a number of chemicals that give you a buzz. most e-liquid only has one (nicotine)
WTA liquids fill that void and help bridge the gap between cigarette and personal vaporizer.
