can it be used as the primary wick or just the flavor wick

I use it as my primary wick. Love the flavor i get from it. Do not hit the button before the wick is wet otherwise you will be rewicking the coil. I didn't it on my very first build and burned the wick in half. Also, another poster said to boil and rinse the assembled head when changing flavors. Not sure if and when its needed. I changed flavors today and the transition to the new flav was complete after about 5 or so puffs.

I use the 3mm peaches and cream yarn as my primary wick-

And I use the Paton's Grace 1mm yarn as my flavor wicks.
I built a double coil last-night for my mini nova head and used 1 - 3mm and 2 - 1mm wicks together as the primary and it works great.

I didn't take pic of the build before i assembled everything bc i was playing around with an idea and didn't think it would work to well at the time but i have been vaping all day with it and get lots of cloud. I do however use a lot more juice the i did before.

ok maybe that way the problem me and my brother and law hit the fire button to see if it was shorted out or not guess ill have to give it another shot thanks guys its a lot easier to go up to walmart and spend 3 bucks for the big role then 7 for 7 foot of silica if it works the same also is kanthal wire the only wire you can use I found some I gues its the wire that holds flowers together it said floral wire or something does that work?

I bought some of that Peaches and Cream yarn today. Boiled it and made a 2ohm coil in my Octopus RDA. It has been working great and the taste is fantastic. It has a much cleaner flavor than silica. I've been dripping from one flavor to another with no problems. I must have gone through 5 different flavor already with no problems. It seems a little fragile (its my first build using cotton). I'm curious to see how well it holds up.

You can use any 4/4 worsted wt 100% cotton, as an alternative you can strand together any 100% cotton that is thinner. If the cone yarn for example is 1400 ypp(yards per lb) then 2 stands would work. I have some here that I will be trying soon. Now do not colored dyed yarn or mercerized as mercerized may be treated with chemicals. If anyone has questions on cotton yarn feel free to ask. I am a knitter and also a retailer of many yarns so I know my "stuff" regarding yarn properties and the number system that is used with cone yarn.

With any yarn like that, it's a good idea to boil it first to remove any sizing that may be on it. I've used the P&C with no problems. Wrap the coil and diagnose any hot spots before you thread the wick in, obviously, since you can't dry burn it.

sorry this will sound really dumb do you just boil the part you are going to use or throw the whole roll in?

The way you solve the common problems of burning the cotton is wrapping in on a drillbit first. That way you can testfire it without the wick inside. Then you fish it through with a strand of something like thread or a strand or wire. And when the wick and wire gets gunky and gross, you can pull out the wick without damaging the coil and just fish a brand new piece of wick! Cotton is definitely my favorite wicking material :D

I'm sitting here thinking...

what is the purpose of flavored yarn, (not for ecig coils) but original intent ?

(scented or flavored also)
If I am not mistaken they are just the color name..just a fad thing. Like a color called wild cherries, cupcake, etc. On the other end of the spectrum some hand dyers use koolaide for dyeing
