so... Im a ..... and cant find the original thread.

Now that the Black batteries are back in stock ... can we get our ones that the coating peeled off replaced? Is it Possible to do this without having to send the bad ones back first? I mean ... I am all for sending them back to be replaced .... Just the thought of not having any bloog batteries for a few days is not cool. lol.

Yeah its a problem in the coating. I was actually going to update that thread with a more recent pic. It has gotten a lot worse on my dad's batteries. He by no means abuses these and carry's them around in a little pouch and small glasses case.

I'm actually leaning towards this being a chemical problem and that the coating isn't adhering to the black paint as well as it is on the other colors. The reason I say that is because one of his batteries has developed this problem away from the top and bottom edges.

Ill update that thread when I get a pic of it to show.

Its not really a question of believing me. I just want to provide Leaford with a better visual reference then a few words, so he can truly understand the problem.

Under normal use the coating should last quite some time but it can wear away after awhile like you see on your iphone cover. But to start peeling in 3 weeks is not really so normal.

we believe you, I don't think pictures are needed. :)
Happily for me, I chose the silver/chrome battery so was blissfully unaware there was a coating on the others. But it doesn't surprise me because my iphone cover is exactly the same -- has that coating and over time it just started to peel.

It seems the black were an isolated issue, because the red and blue don't seem to be peeling for people. Both of mine are fine after a month of use. My silver looks banged up, though.

I think that's right. We switched to a different supplier for the latest batch because of this, but only time will tell if theirs hold up better as promised. As an aside, I had to change my plans to have a military themed camo-patterned batt with no LED because of this same issue. The rubbery coating wouldn't adhere to the camo paint and peeled off. So, instead I had to go all black for that.

I would chalk it up to a Lemony Snicket moment (A series of unfortunate accidents) and carry on as usual. After all the company experienced a hugh growing problem just as CNY hit. Then Toni's mother became ill and you lost your computer. Life happens, and Murphy's Law kicks us all in the .... at times.

Pretty much the size of it. THanks for your understanding. :)
