I don't know. But for what it's worth, I have a red and a blue battery that I got on release date, and they are just fine (not peeling). Of course, I baby them; they are either in my hand or safely in a case.

ok just a quick update I will ship out my batt asap (soon as I get my hands on some bubblewrap)
Haven't received my Trifecta yet, but curious anyway ( I refinish a bit of metal here and there...) is the metal underneath shiny where it has peeled, or matte, as if it had perhaps been sandblasted? A lot of (initially) really nice looking finishes come off easily due to lack of or missed prep work- parts not degreased thoroughly, not rough enough for the coating to get a good "bite" and adhere, etc.

it looks like some form of clear coat is on top of the paint which is what is peeling. I wonder if a battery can be powder coated?
you'd be surprised I've seen powder coat rims that looked like a sheet of glass on the smoothness factor
I knew one shop that did great work but they closed down, I would have asked him to try a battery for the fun of it
Yeah I would actually be pretty curious myself, which is why I might do it to one when it gets bad enough. I have access to a PC system so it wont be a problem. What Id LOVE to know is what exactly that rubbery coating is that there putting on the batteries. Id like to use it on some other things hehe.

And I should mention that anyone who wants to exchange theirs (once we're back in stock of course) is more than welcome to. Our warranty will cover it since it's clearly a defect, not due to normal wear and tear. I didn't want you to get the impression from my special request for one to be returned that normal warranty exchanges weren't going to be allowed.
No problem, still learning how to use my canon 7D properly. But i'll probably skip the exchange process cause that means I'll have to part ways with my MF and that's a no no!

I know she told me she signed up for an account on ECF, I don't know what screenname she posts on or if she is just lurking. We are a 2 computer family. I know if I get slapped across the back of the head then I went to far on 1 of my posts. LOL She knows most of my common screen names and it has happened. She is both the love of my life and my partner
