I love the Caliburn. I love the flavor and form factor. I think it has a pretty decent hit and battery life for what it is.

That said. I bought a box of replacement pods. 3 of the 4 developed cracks within 1-2 days of opening. I say 3 of 4 because I haven't opened the fourth yet.

This best just be a bad batch and not a new design.

Replacement pods are often the issue with pod
devices it seems. My vladdin worked fine until I got to my first box of pods. The problem of course is the system is designed so it HAS to use replacement pods, and the reviews often don’t check their quality. They seem to assume that replacement pods will be of the same quality as the ones that came in the box and it is often not the case.

I haven't had a problem with replacement pods until this box.

I'm running 3 Caliburns concurrently with 3 different flavors. The first 2 cracked running a new lemon poundcake juice I just opened. I thought "plastic cracking juice. Shelve it and use in glass" should not be any cinnamon but you never know.

Today my peppermint Calibern was weeping terribly through the side airholes. Took out the pod to see a large crack.

Now I did notice these were clear where all previous pods were smoky grey. They are genuine from a legitimate retailer whom I will be contacting to advise of my experience.

Seems to be another brand with replacement pods on the market. One of the FarEast shops offers them as well. Costs the half... Just got 20 authentic pods in a pack. Until now i maybe had one or two which gave up earlier. 3 out of 4 is way to much nevertheless. We can just hope that this where some "monday pods"...
I do love the caliburn as well and run some of them. Until now i did not found a more comfortable and easy to use device. But to be honest. Keeping Quality Assurance steady is a tough project...

It’s possible they might be counterfeits then. It’s a common problem with a lot of products from China. Do you have any of your old boxes? Is there a difference?
In any case the manufacturer might be interested.

The first one is a 3D render of the pod.
That would explain much. Not super useful then. The attempt is to compare either the actual pod or the packaging for same for both the pods that worked well and the pods that worked poorly to see if there are any differences. So far that hasn’t happened then.
