What I mean by this is people who won't have friends who smoke, who won't date a smoker because of the offensive odor, health hazzards, etc...

I was curious what as to what is the general 'rule' with those same people when it comes to vapin'? Do they have the same reaction or are they cool with it? I haven't had much practice yet in the real world with it but it's something I'm very curious about.

For instance if I was on a personals site online and someones ad grabbed my attention but they stressed "non smokers only please" does that really include me anymore or not? I'm not a stealth vapor by any stretch of the imagination...I take hits here and there when I feel like it and I'm not attached to the hip with it either (I don't carry it everywhere I go, etc) but when I want to hit it I want to it it...

Do people put "I vape" in their personal ads now? Haha... Really curious about how this stuff works if anyone has any experience with it.

The girl I'm currently dating was not interested in dating a smoker at all - but has no problem, at all, with my vaping. MOST people who don't like smoking aren't rabid anti smokers. Your mileage may vary. Should contact your dating site and ask for it to be added as an option - that could be a very cool feature! If this doesn't work out, I'd be 10x more interested in dating someone who was a fellow vaper.

Well, for me, it's quite simple: I haven't smoked for two and an half years. Period. My doctor considers me a non-smoker. So do I. So, I guess I would fall right into the 'non smokers only please' group. And yet, I did not abandon my smoker friends; I do not feel morally superior to them.
So, think of it as a personality test. If the girl has any brains, she will perceive tha vaping is not smoking, not by a long shot. On the other hand, if she's not the brightest bulb, so be it. It's her loss...:p
I would never date someone so close-minded, anyway! Or worse still, a rabid 'anti-smoking nazi'... I really do not see myself having to put up with one of those 'better than thou' (me) type... yuk!!

I've been wondering the same thing, specifically to personals. My sister finally talked me into joining match, and I'm getting ready to do it...soon...really I am.

Maybe leave those boxes unchecked, and put something in your profile like "quit smoking, and now get my nic-fix through through a laser pointer looking type device..." Might get some curious responses, while probably keeping the rabid anti-smokers away?

I haven't had particularly virulent responses to anti-smokers before switching to vaping, but I have wondered how many people have completely discounted me based on that one response (I think it's a valid question to ask). Since switching to ecigs, I am excited to see how many dating opportunities it opens it up (I self-identify as a non-smoker now) - if they don't approve of the vaping, I'll cross that bridge when I get there!

Well, I'm not real sure. Buuut, my girlfriend HATED when I smoked. She wouldn't be around me or even hang out at a far distance if I smoked. If she could smell it or see it, she got ....... She always smelled it on me even if I only had one cigarette hours before and would bust me out instantly. I told her all about my e-cig right after I got it and bragged about it a lot. When she saw me vaping, she thought it was the neatest thing ever. Even better, she said it makes my breath smell good and that it leaves an awesome taste my mouth. I couldn't get her to come near me with a cigarette and I can keep her away from my nicotine vapors ;) I'd have to say that vapers and smokers are two COMPLETELY different things. That's just my personal opinion, but it makes sense. :)

I took my pv to a party last weekend....long time friends that I hadn't seen in a while that were rabid anti-smokers and always on my back to quit. Anyhooo, they laughed when they saw it, thought it was a toy. By the end of the night they were walking past me everytime I had a 'toot' on my no-nic apple pie cause they loved the smell and all want to get their family/co-workers/other friends etc onto it.

I would hope that once they get the chance to see it in operation most people who don't like smoke/smokers would feel the same way.

In my experience, ex-smokers tend to be the most intolerant of vaping. I suspect it's because they went through such total agony to quit back before there were personal steamers and e-liquid.

One ex-smoker friend even went so far as to alter his dietary preferences after he quit cigarettes. Suddenly, he was eating five or six huge beefsteak tomatoes per day. He also started snarfing down raw eggplant -- an eggplant would last maybe two or three days before he ate it all. Then he discovered black pepper. Before he quit smoking, he'd have nothing to do with pepper on anything; afterwards, he shook pepper on everything except ice cream. And when I pointed out that pepper contains a miniscule amount of nicotine, at restaurants he would open the full pepper shaker, dump half or more of the contents into his soup, then sweat heavily while proclaiming how good the soup was.

When I first showed up with a personal steamer, he was downright hostile towards it. Needless to say, I don't vape around him.
