The most cherished rights we have is the 1st. Amendment. I too feel I have the right to say and express myself the way I feel fit. But we all know how the media and government works. They will take whatever they can and twist it to use it to their advantage.

My definition of cool; Is to be perceived in a good light. Whether I prefer the dark is nobodies business but my own.

That said, you know these anti-smoking nut jobs. What do you think they will say about the ECF?

Frankly, My dear, I don't give a (I'd say the word but I cant)
I just do.not.care.
As smokers we are sent to the outskirts of the earth to avoid offending people. Obese people, caffeine addicted people, even drug addicts fair better in the limelight than we do. I'll be a underage avatars monkeys uncle if I am going to cow down, again, to the totalitarianism masses. I don't want it banned, but I also don't want it legal if it means I have to be ashamed, again, of myself.
Its in jest, kids smoking, its a joke. Its IRONIC.
I'm annoyed.

Just my perception here, but I don't think you get it. Playing nice/nice with anti smokers won't get you anything but a Nicotrol Inhaler or a pack of Nicorette. You cannot do, say, think, or express yourself in anyway that will make you seem anything other than a depraved addict, vaping in secret out by the dumpsters. It is way past time to stand up to these people whether you smoke or vape. They are monsters, and they want nothing more than to take away your freedom of speech, making you too afraid to speak aloud what you are thinking. Read about it in 1984, a bit earlier than the real thing; nevertheless, Orwell was a genius.

In my opening post I noted that the irony wasn't lost on me. Please read the OP again if you dont think I support expression and enjoy irony.

But please, if where you draw the line in this great struggle is your avatar... well simply ignore my advise.

I never advocated a forced change, nor would I EVER support such an idea.

Our opponents don't use logic, and they are not above mudslinging or exaggerating or frankly lying to win.

So, whats next? People asking us to monitor what we are saying{typing} at every given moment on the forum because of who might be reading?
If you haven't noticed, my avatar is of an adult, moi, this isn't even a "struggle" for me...I am just opposed at the idea of conforming to fit in a box so people don't have more mud to sling at us. Its the backing down that we do for them that gets us to the point of this ridiculous argument in the first place. Oh, no, what might they think of us? Might they think we mock the thought of children smoking?! Yes. Yes, I do mock it. Because its funny and stupid.

I changed my aviator, but I am not liking this at all. A forum is a place of free expression. It is not a place for others to decide for me how to express myself.

I remember your avatar.. the little girl with the finger? I don't see why you should change it. She's not smoking, so what's the problem?

The fact that we even have to have this forum to protect our rights disturbs me.. it's still a free country and that pic speaks volumes IMHO. It does nothing to promote smoking by children.. sheesh

I feel sorry for the little girl because she looks so p'd off that it makes me think she has been abused in some way but I would never ask that it be removed. You cant please everybody. I could post a pic of my cat and someone out there would be offended by it in some way, such is life.

I am just wondering. Why is it that when someone makes a VALID statement, backs it with a viable excuse, someone jumps in and creates a "I can do anything I want...who the hell are you to tell me different" or "Im not cowering because it might offend" blah blah blah! I mean, really?
Boston G made a valid point... some avitars may 1. offend others, and 2. Give the anti's ammunition. End of point. Whats sooooo hard about just agreeing with it? When I made posts about my stance on public vaping and the smoking ban, my points were not invalid, but I was hit with a barrage of not so nice comments.
No one is telling anyone what to do. People make suggestions based on what they believe will keep this "war" peacable, and give less ammo to the other side. Then people reply as if the OP's are rallying to take away their rights. I dont get it. these are not personal attacks. Put your avitar back Sherid...next time Im parruzing the forum with my 4 year old daughter on my lap, I'll just have to explain an infant flipping us off when we come across yours. Not a big deal.
Boston George.... I get it. I also dont vape in non-smoking areas. Appearently that makes me a coward to some, as well as personally attacking the rights of others. Cant we take these posts for what they are?
My best,
-VP

Oh, please. So, now we must watch what we post because someone might be browsing the forum with a 4 year old? That sounds very much like the work of the anti smokers. This is an ADULT forum. The avitar is gone. Your daughter is safe.
