You're right. FA's Butterscotch is useful as a spice, an additional, and a standalone. FA's Cookie is one I find more useful for adding something to other flavors too. Both hold a position close to the front of my flavorings drawers.

Not meaning to come off as a pompus SOB, but you may want to read my blogs. It reinforces much of what you have already learned and may give you some hints as you continue.

Welcome to DIY washvap and don't forget to have the club patch sewn below the left pocket of your lab coat.

Really need to check back on some of my threads. Thanks for the welcome and reply. I'll definitely check out some of your blogs. Always interested in learning some new tricks. Especially when I'm new to DIY.

Flavor is very subjective to each person for sure. I would always recommend starting low in flavor and build up. Its so much easier to add than trying to thin it out. I made a habit of making small batches 5mil of each flavor. Just to know what each one tastes like. Some you wont use as a stand alone that much your finding out now. Its a total learning process and finding out what works for you. Warning though DIY can get quite addicting trying to find new ways and new things to create with but its so much fun and still cheaper than buying your juice. Next you will be looking for EM, sucralose and other things to accent your flavors! Plus everyone here is very helpful. Welcome to the club!

Hoosier still waiting for my patch :toast:

Very true and I should've done that in the first place. All I've made so far is 15ml (more like 13 to fit in the glass dropper bottles without spillage). Still waiting for them to steep actually. Would've been better if I would have done 5ml batches. There are still some flavors that I want to experiment with. Since some of them I intended to mix together.

Can totally see how this is addictive in that I want to order a whole lot of flavors. Also, to try different vendors I've heard about. Someone has actually mentioned EM to me and am really interested to see what kind of qualities that it adds to juices. Haven't heard of sucralose though. Going to put that on my list.

Thanks for the welcome and yeah, everyone here has been really helpful. Really have to visit this section of the forum more often.

I've read that others test flavors in pg or vg with no nicotine first. I haven't done that, but my first mixes I started with a plan to make a 3ml batch. Estimating that I'd need about 20% flavoring, I put 2.4ml nic juice in a beaker, then decide which flavors I'd use for the other .6 ml of the mix.

If it doesn't come out, you really haven't lost much of anything.

I've mostly been working on warm bakery type cinnamon mixes, (start with REALLY small amounts of any cinnamon flavor - very easy to overdo it), and find that after sitting a week, the flavors blend into something much more cohesive than you started with.

I remember my wife asking what I was putting in the DVD player and I told her Dr Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog. She asked if I was going to subject her to torture with one of my terrible sci-fi things again. She loved it! Later we were at Gen Con and a father dresssed as Hammer was with his 9-11 year old son dressed as Dr. Horrible were walking by and she grabs my arm and points out the "Sing Along Thing People!", in a near scream. I had tears from the laughter.

I assume then, that you've watched the DVD extras with the video applications from the public to join the ELoL? My cousin and I have been brainstorming our own application.

Could anything be more fun to sing along to.....in the car.....at your desk? Soundtrack is a necessity imo. Unfortunately, my husband doesn't do musicals, so this is one thing I've been unable to get him to enjoy. I, on the other hand, think it's hilarious. So does my college age son and his fiance.

So they say we're going to get Dr. Horrible 2.:w00t:

I don't think I would have found it without first getting obsessed with Firefly. Joss Whedon ftw.
