Hi. Because my favorite ejuice is currently out of stock at myfreedomsmokes, I just ordered some stuff so I can make my own. I've ordered their Virginia flavoring, which is a FlavourArt flavor; it says 'start at 1%' -- Really? Then why, when I was checking out ejuicemeup and all the associated readme's, does it say '20%'? That is a huge difference, and so obviously I am very confused. Can someone shed some light for me? I don't want to mess this up, or waste a bunch of supplies.

Thx!

Thanks for the FlavourArt link... I think... it shows 2%, 15% -- I'm not sure what that means, or which of those to use? I went to the FlavourArt website, but not everything on that site is really clear, it's translated from italian. Can't read the comments/reviews at all, and I always read those. My theory is, anyone can say anything, but when you look at the whole body of comments/reviews statistically, you can see which way things are tending.

maybe I'll just start with the 1% it says in the instructions at myfreedomsmokes. Can't hoit. :D

Thx!

FA's Virginia is a fun one. We were discussing it http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/518022-pure-vapes-has-3ml-flavourart-flavorings-4.html#post12457604 <there.

1% will give you one taste. 2% will give you a completely different taste....etc.

So have fun with it and don't let anyone tell you it needs to be at X% to be right. It's one of the most versatile tobacco flavorings in FA's lineup.

Ok, thanks! I'm getting it from MyFreedomSmokes, because I love their PG-blend Virginia, but they're out of stock, and I also like to add just a *touch* of apple cinnamon to it, since it kinda has a bit of that taste anyway. I'll just start with a very small quantity, and see how it goes.

I also created a mix, using this tobacco flavor and a several others, along with apple-cinnamon-clove, and it makes an *outstanding* vape for just getting up in the morning; I can't take a lot of throat hit then, and it might be the tiny bit of clove in this, but it's a bit sweet and very spicy but the throat hit is warm, not hot and intense the way I like it the rest of the time.

I was wondering, can you explain what this means?

* 1 Virginia 2%, 15%, for its versatility, mixes as tobacco base really well.

It's from that link that sdennislee gave me, a post here in the DIY section, but for the life of me I can't puzzle it out. Why the two diff percentages?

Thx!!

Hmm, glad you told me, and I doubt I would have any use for that; I always try to buy my juices at 80PG/20VG, just to cut down on sweetness. With this Virginia, I do like the addition of just a *hint* of apple, but not outright just plain sweetness. I prefer the apple be tart -- the best e-juice I've found to mix with the PG-Virginia at myfreedomsmokes is a Pipe Sauce called "Oak Barrel Cider." That was the first e-juice I ever bought, because as soon as I tasted it, I recognized *something* about it as being similar to the cigarettes I smoked, Virginia Slims. I generally only add a drop or two of the OBC -- it's quite sweet, to me -- into a full tank of Virginia, and the taste is fantastic, just right.

Any of the sweet flavors I've tried just don't seem to have much in the way of throat hit, and I really require that, except for when I first get up in the morning. That's also the only time I can really stand sweet flavors; I'm only 9 days smoke-free, and my tastebuds still seem to think they're supposed to be treated to a bitter cigarette in the morning, and no vape tastes like that, so I go the other way and make it a little sweeter. By the time my morning mix seems too mild on throat hit, 30-60 mins after getting up, I'm ready for the Virginia.

Ahh... thank you very much for telling me; I looked all over that post and could find no indication at all of what the various figures meant. Considering what has been said about this flavor, I'll definitely start with 1% for a very small quantity and see how it goes.

Thx much!!!

Ok, got some of my DIY stuff, so, I just mixed up a VERY small (5ml) batch with 1% (1 drop) of Virginia in 6mg PG nicotine. I've discovered that this FlavourArt Virginia has a very strong odor of "celery," which I've smelled in other Virginia e-juices, and also got a huge helping of when I tried to vape my "good" Virginia (PG-blend Virginia from myfreedomsmokes) in an iClear16.

So what I need to know is, how do I get rid of that celery odor? Leave the cap off the flavoring? Mix up some plain PG with the Virginia and let it steep/age? Any suggestions will be extremely welcome.

Alternately, are there other Virginia flavors that DON'T have that celery odor? I've found a couple others: Virginia, and Golden Virginia, by Tobacco Express. I'm willing to try them, if they lack that awful smell.

What is the best solution:

1) leave cap off flavor?
2) mix up PG with flavor and let it steep/age?
3) try other manufacters' flavors?

Thx very much!!

Hi Hoosier, I'm getting today Va. (AP) and I have many questions about this flavour.

Not yet worked with it, but i saw that is the basis for tobacco, my favorite.
So 1% to 2% change much?

I think about doing:

Virginia alone 3 ml - (1%, 2% and 3%)
Virgnínia with Espresso (TPA) - Virginia espresso 1% 3%
Virgnínia with Red Oak (TPA) - Red Oak Virginia 1% 3%
10 days maturation!

What can you tell me about it?

Thanks!

You'll have some fun with FA's Virginia. Let me know if you can believe the same bottle of flavoring produced the 1% taste and the 2% taste. (The fun doesn't end at those %'s either...)

I've been through about 200ml of the flavoring and I am certain I still don't know what all it can do...

Try another batch at 2%...it will taste different.

Hmm.. well, it does taste a little different, but then, I also mixed in 5 drops of Red Oak Tobacco e-juice, and 5 drops of another e-juice which I mixed up from several others, which is a little sweeter, along with 1 drop of the "Dirty Ashtray" e-juice I got from EC Blend, so I think the difference I'm tasting is more from those additions than the extra drop of Virginia flavor -- I can still taste a bit of that celery-type flavor. it's not EXACTLY celery, mind you; it's just a smell like a crisper full of green stuff that's about ready to toss out. But at least the other stuff I added might make this *somewhat* salvageable.

After going thru all this, I went back and took a smell of the other Virginia e-juices I've been collecting, looking for a reasonable substitute to the MFS PG Virginia. Of all of them, Hangsen's in the closest to what I'm looking for. Myvaporstore's is still chemical/celery smelling, and to a lesser degree, so is Primevaping's.

I guess I'm just stuck, till MFS gets more of their PG Virginia in stock. :grr: Which really sucks, because it's the only e-juice I really like, at least, like enough to vape it all day. How the hell does a professional business run out of one of their best stocks???? And then not get it back in stock for 2 wks???

:grr:
Andria

PS: so I still need to know, how to get rid of that smell from the flavor itself -- leave cap off? mix with PG and let it steep/age?

Thanks!

After doing several experiments, I decided that I will do only 3 or 4 liquids for my use. All tobacco flavor. So I think using Virginia as Base should work.

I believe in making a batch of 30 bottles 4ml each, ranging essences and percentages.

Virginia
Espresso
Red Oak

In all of them use 1% and 1% MTS Vape Wizard Bitter

I'm here too:
Cowboy Blend - TPA
Cuban Type - TPA
Maxx Blend - FA
Perique Black - FA
Mild Black - TPA
Do you have a special recipe?

complementing:
This is my current stock, I intend to work with it:
IUrish Cream - TPA, Mocha Flavour - TPA, Hickory Smoke - TPA, Original Caramel - TPA, Banana Cream - TPA, Apple Flavour - TPA, Bavarian Cream - TPA, Dulce de Leche - TPA, Double Chocolate - TPA, Vanilla Bean - TPA , Cinamon Danish - TPA, Orange Cream - Hazelnut and TPA - TPA

I thought you were new to mixing and were getting your feet under you with single flavoring mixes. You're way past that with complex blends and using flavorings I don't have experience with, so I have no idea what is happening or how to fix it.
