thanks for the video! What ohms do you suggest without a kick? I have tried 1.2-1.4 and it just took too long to heat up.

Not so much "what ohms", as what number of wraps. You'll get the best heat-up time and still have a proper micro vape with 8 wraps on a 1/16" (or a tad smaller) coil ID. In selecting your preferred resistance, you are selecting the wire gauge that provides it with ~8-9 wraps.

Folks do like the flavor they get with more wraps (say 10); but it will fire a bit slower.

One of these would be cool. I'd like to see one that you could do different diameter coils on.

He drilled them out with a #52 hole and provided a 1/16" and a #54 post, I also have used my #53 drill bit in it. It has set screws, to allow you to place various sized posts in it.

Deazy'z jig is to coils what RBAs are to vaping.

It truly simplifies it exponentially as well as makes touching wraps so much easier. I also like the way it doesn't bend the tail that normally gets held under my thumb if I use a needle / nail / drillbit / screwdriver etc...

You can also remove the post mold with the coil still on it and use it to mount / position on your RBA. I don't know why I didn't think of that yesterday.

I would normally seek a backup or three of something this good, but since it stays at home in a drawer I think I can calm myself enough to get by.

What a sick invention. :)

Great video Russ that is a mighty fine coil jig Darkz does nice work

*Pssssst*......I wasn't going to mention it because he's NOT a supplier and they're NOT for sale.....but darkzero gave me one of those coil jigs, too. (I feel so special...and I'm not just being cheeky...I mean it!) I just happened to be in the right PM at the right time. It is one awesome little piece of metal. For one thing, there's not a flaw in it; he really does do nice work. And it works like a dream. The coils practcially wrap themselves. I've played with it for hours....I've recoiled every RBA I have, and none of them even needed a new coil. This is a sickness, I tell you.

Anyway, bottom line, this little thing is a piece of fine art, and it's the perfect little tool for coil wrapping. Classy.

EDIT: Hey, Gil.....are you running low on coils? Want me to make you some? :)

Love that jig. Gonna make me one similar. My hands get cramping when I wrap a bunch of coils.

I love that jig too. Very elegant design. And I'd vote for DZ if he ran for president. :) Seeins' how they are not available to the masses, I went dumpster diving in my garage and found this in amongst a bunch of tools and things I inherited from my father-in-law. I don't know what it is or what it's used for and it's ugly as hell but works like a charm. I know it doesn't look like it, but it is surprisingly comfortable to hold and use.

Hmmm...a c-clamp type contraption. I've been using a mini-vise that I use for my model airplanes but it's mounted to my desk. A small c-clamp might just do the trick. Great idea, TB.
