I'm still pretty new at this. I've only used a few venders for juice and prefilled carts.
But some of my juices have this strange perfumy taste to them, sometimes it overpowers the offical flavor. And it's not an aftertaste either.
My two strongest are:
Pumpkin Pie from V4L and Cotton Candy from Mrs. T's.

It's kinda annoying.

Thanks in advance

The pumpkin pie seems to just have a perfume taste. I have not found anything to kill that taste in that particular flavor. General rule when you get perfume is to let it sit with the cap off for a few hours. Most times this will allow whatever is making it taste like perfume to dissipate. If that fails a few drops of vanilla extract will sometimes do the trick. Hope that helps.

Call me stupid but what does perfume taste like? I always hear this "perfume taste" brought up. But since I've never tasted perfume before I'm not getting it. Really I'm not trying to be snarky...really would like to relate/identify what people are referring to.

Are we talking the smell of it?

I have been using perfumers apprentice for flavors and haven't had that problem. Seems ironic that the site has perfume in the name.

It's something a lot of vapors don't care for. The best way to detect it is to french inhale. It comes from the flavoring that is used. Lorann and Flavorart are the two most widely used flavorings. Sometimes perfume taste mostly goes away as the juice mellows. If your juice came from a vendor that mixes as orders come in, you will eventually run into this. To me, it's just like you walked by someone wearing heavy cologne and you get a whiff of it along with your tobacco cigarette.

I can't tell you what flavorings exhibit this aroma, but it's prevalent in tobacco flavors as well as candy flavors. I don't generally waste a bottle that has a perfume scent, but I will mix it with a strong tobacco, chocolate, or vanilla juice to blend it out. If you go to the Lorann web site you will see flavorings that have the same name as a lot of the juices that are pre-mixed.

Thanks Dave. I guess I've been fortunate up to this point. I've never had a juice which reminded me of perfume yet. I guess I'll know it when it happens.

Some people have never had the misfortune to experience the taste of perfume. If you were to accidently inhale through your mouth shortly after someone close to you applies a feminine floral scented perfume, you would get this experience. It can be quite nasty.

It seems to be a matter of personal sensitivity to certain smells or tastes. I can't stand most perfumes, either, they all stink the same to me. The exceptions are usually very oldfashioned perfums made from recipees that are quite old. Which supports Max (from Flavourart) idea that I may be overy sensitive to an aldehyde.

Easiest way to deal with it: Try liquids, if one or the other has that (entirley subjective) problem, give it to somebody who isn't quite so sensitive about this. Most people don't have that problem, but quite a few.

Yup. I've had it a few times and after leaving the juice for a week or so to steep, the perfume taste has gone.

Actually, I've now started mixing all juices at least a week in advance anyway. I see people (on You Tube, for example), mix and immediately vape. I find that's the worst way to get the real flavor. But to each, his own, I guess.
