perhaps the sweetener does not agree with me?

Hey folks,
First off I apologize if this is an extraneous post, Im pretty sure this has been gone over before but I couldnt turn up what I was looking for.

I tried some friends pecan waffles and I just loved it. He vapes at 36mg though and I thought my head was going to pop. I ordered with doublers 3 oz of waffles for myself so confident was I of the juice. I got it in and the heavens parted, angels sung. Now a few days later I am seeing a problem. I have been vaping for about 5-6 months now and this is my first forray in to a sweetened juice. I think that maybe it is the sweetener that is giving me fits.

My throat is dry and I dont know how to decribe it but there is almost a secondary... sting? buzz? after inhale at the back and top of my throat. As I said I have not used sweetened liquids before and I am thinking this might be a factor.

Another thing is that I am going through cartomizers like mad to keep the flavor good and consistent. I vape 3.7 on l.r. cartomizers. I generaly use a carto for around lets say 5 days give or take depending on the liquid. With the waffles I am changing every day or 2. In my head I am thinking that maybe I am cooking the sweetener on the coil or something. The liquid while id say slightly dark is very viscous, or is that not viscous? I get that mixed up. It flows freely, lets go with that.

Anyway given the popularity of the flavor I thought I should ask here and see if anyone else has had these experiences and if my thoughts on the sweetener might be on track.

Well, the dryness, stinging, buzz you described sounds a LOT like an expected reaction to PG (Propylene Glycol). Be that the case, this subsides over time/use.

As for shortening cartomizer life. I can say if Waffles is your thing, it's a dark liquid and dark liquids have been known and nortorious for shortening the life of cartomizers/atomizers.

Sadly, the ONLY way around this is extensive research into flavorings that are completely clear AND don't taste like chemicals and the backside of a donkey.

Electronic cigarettes and liquids for them, is still all very brand new and the media used for them, have been designed mainly with food applications in mind. No brave soul has ventured the capital and the time necessary to develop flavorings and additives specifically with e-liquid applications in mind.

If you flush your cartos regularly, this may thwart the problem slightly. Alcohol (of the high proof vodka variety), saturate the polyfil and blow it until until what comes out of the other end is relatively clear, then let them dry for a good few hours...this may extend the carto life considerably.

I do not believe we are talking about an alergic reaction. As I said, I have been vaping for a while now and have tried light dark and inbetween liquids. I have tried 100% vg and 100% pg and combinations inbetween. I am not saying I am a know it all veteran, far from it. I am saying that there is something different with this juice for me. The most prominent variable to my mind is the sweetener because that is the one thing about this juice that I have not had experience with before.

Can you tell me if you have had experiences like this with the sweetener before or can I rule that out?

I am considering trying some without sweetener to compare but before I go to the trouble and expense I thought I would ask here.

Thanks for the replies. :)
