Perpetualy burnt taste?

Almost sounds as if the wick under the bridge is either frayed & a fiber or 2 is burning or the wick is completely toast, causing it to...ummm, not wick from the cart to the coil.
I've had this happen a couple of times. Always seems to be after running an atty to dry once to often. Sometimes I can get another week or so out of them by dripping only & making sure it's almost to the point of flooding but eventually I get that taste no matter what & I toss'em.
It sucks but they're expendable, just like batteries. They'll crap out sooner or later. Some sooner, some later...When the bad taste or lack of runtime outweighs the good, chuck it.

I have recently purchased a Janty 510 Dura C which worked great for 4 days (not one analog smoked while this 510 worked). Then I got the dreaded burnt taste that is absolutely unbearable! Figured I burnt the atomizers so I ordered a Titan 510 from Totally Wicked. The first hit off of both brand new atomizers taste burnt!??? I tried the smoke it dry-add a drop-smoke it dry cycle 3 or 4 times then even boiled that atomizer afterwards for 5 minutes with no change. I have two brand new 510 sets (4 atomizers total) that I cannot use because of that terrible burnt taste. PLEASE HELP!!! I have tried replacing the cart filling with Lipton teabag material and Fluval water polishing pad. Neither made a difference. I have two different brands of e-liquid, Totally e-lquid and liquid from Good Prophets with six different flavors. Changing these does nothing to help. I'm sick of smoking analogs but I need that nicotine!!! Thanks in advance!

How long have you had it for? I just received my 901 from Good Prophets last night, have been vaping all night and today and no problems. I am excited because after using a m401, this machine is friggin' awesome! I can actually taste my flavors and the draw is so easy compared to my old 401. Not sure what is happening for you, but just wanted to chime in since I got the same thing from the same person...

My attys are from Janty and Totally Wicked. The Janty attys both worked well for four days then both began tasting burnt. The Totally Wicked attys tasted burnt from the first hit. It is so bad I cannot even inhale it. I've been vaping all four attys (without inhaling) for five days now hoping that the burnt taste would eventually go away. No change. It is just as bad now as it was before. The liquids are from Totally Wicked (apple, cherry, and chocolate) and Good Prophets (coffee, marlboro, and winston). I've tried smoking the attys dry (until no more vapor produced), boiled one, tried dripping on the atty and using an empty cart, and now just continuous vaping keeping the carts topped off. All to no avail. I have now ordered the Blu e-cig and have new 510 attys on the way. Has anyone had any luck with peroxide, rubbing alcohol or whiskey or anything else successfully eliminating the burnt taste?

Oh, my...

Out of 8 attys I have purchased, at least half of them did that *before* I did any cleaning. I cleaned them, and nothing changed.

A couple of them got so bad, they hurt my throat like knives. They only worked well when very wet, just at the level of flooding. And now that I think about it, half of my attys has fibers sticking out of the wick... *Not* the fibers from the cart filler, but from inside the wick, like it's frayed, or not wrapped tight.

Does that mean they are faulty and I should have returned them? I have one left now (I tossed the other), and I though I'd try cleaning it again, but if it's the problem with manufacturing, that's a lost cause...

Wow. Prevalent problem...

Briar.

I also figured out that the burny taste was in my carts, not the attys. I thought all my attys were going bad until I used a new clean cart and problem was solved. And I'm learning to be more gentle with them. slow and easy on the inhale and the attys don't dry out so quickly. when I chain vape, I alternate between two vps so they don't get too hot and the juice has time to wick. (Sometimes I sneak a vape from both at the same time for a giant plume of deliciousness)

Well, against better judgment, I went ahead and tried the coke method, to see what would happen. Now on my 401 I have another , "almost dead" atty, it's pretty much dead. I am barely getting any vapor from it. So I think I have made my mind up for sure. No more cleaning the attys, they seem to do just fine without it...
