Hi, I have EHPro KFL Clone which I have had for a while.

Every now and then I get this working and its great, however most of the time its dry hits, mute flavour and hardly any vapour.

I think I've tried most suggestions to get it working (less wick, more wick, micro coil/spaced coil, lifting the coil above the airhole etc) but to be honest I'm starting to think this rta is just not for me, too much faff.

I have a Subtank Mini and I can build in this thing on the rda deck, fill it up and it will work every time. I want this kind of ease of use but with more of a flavor/mouth to lung experience. Is there a tank that can give me this? Or do I just continue trying with the KFL, maybe there are some magic words I haven't yet come across that will help me?

$70 bucks for an authentic Kayfun Lite-Plus is pretty cheap ... When I bought mine (back when they were super popular) they cost about $110 from a company in Germany (delivered to the US)

An authentic Kayfun Lite-Plus is still a great atty, and of very very good quality.

Only downside is that it won't get you as much airflow as some of these RTA's now being sold ... but if you are still doing mouth to lung vaping (like I do), you have no use for massive airflow anyway.

I have heard the EHPro is a good clone and tbh it feels like quality, threads are good and everything seem to be where it should. I think the issue is the general design, I've read several threads from people saying they have the same trouble and that you have to be very precise with the wicking.

Personally I want something I can throw a build into and go out the door, and also know that performance will be the same after refilling.

Honestly, I preferred my EHPro to my authentic. It had two airholes and was an easier draw. I'm sorry you're having trouble with the wicking. I generally consider it a good first RTA.

Some thoughts. I love the Erlkonigin/Erlprinz, but you may find it every bit as frustrating through the learning curve.

I also found the Calix deck to be very annoying. The screws are very short and have tiny heads. There are other attys I liked just as much or better that didn't have me crawling on the floor with a magnifying glass trying to find 4 tiny screws that suddenly all flew away, lol! Mine also had horrid machining that took me hours of work to make it look decent.

These RTAs allow for easy builds and access to your build without draining your juice:

Nectar. Easiest thing I've ever built. And a great vape. The genny type design makes it a possible leaker though if not stored upright. Not something you want to lay down in your purse or pocket possibly. I keep this one at home, but I sure do like it.

Taifun GT2. Easy to build and fill. There are known good clones also.

eXpromizer. Inexpensive for an authentic. Kind of a cross between a kayfun and taifun. A lot of tank options including glass.

One of the fluff tanks like the Spheroid or Prometey. Simple as it gets. Won't leak unless you get crazy filling it :). The Heron is more complex or I would list it, too.

I bet one of those would make you happy.

I've been filling from the bottom, trying to leave an air bubble, is the top fill not quite complicated?
I top fill mine like this: assemble everything but the top cap. Fill with juice. Put your finger over the air hole, and start screwing the cap on. When you see that the oring is beginning to seat (sometimes you'll see the juice getting disturbed by the air you trapped under the cap). Keeping your finger covering the air hole, turn it upside down and screw the cap on tight.

Now you can take your finger off the hole and flip in back up right. There will be some juice in the air flow hole so blow through your drip tip lightly in a napkin.

What you accomplished is creating a vacuum in the tank.

Give it a try. It's easier than it reads. I do it every time and I've never had a dry hit!

What kind of power are you trying to feed your Kayfun? They work best between 1ohm and 2ohms. I have several Frankenstien Kayfuns. I only get dry hits when the tank is empty or running too hot a coil, or do some fancy wick job I saw on Youtube. Heres how I wick a Kayfun. I use cotton ball for wick, I tear piece from a unrolleed ball, about 2-3" long and say 1/4" wide, then I lightly roll than into a cylinder, between Palm and pant leg. I then twist an end into a point and poke through the coil, Install chimney base, pull both end up above the edge of the chimney and cut off say 10mm to 1/2" above the rim, gently poke the ends down into the wells being sure to COVER the wicking holes, Install chimney cap and tank, drip a few drop into the tank, enough to cover the channels, install top cap, flip over and fill tank, flip back over and BLOW through the drip tip. This does 2 things blows excess out of air channels and helps prime the wick. Set mod down for a few minutes to get the wick fully absorb juice. Vape Away.

Actually I think the Calix deck might just be the easier I've worked with. Of course I use 29G kanthal so the tiny heads are not a problem, but I can see your point if you happen to drop one :). The best thing about it is that you can put as much cotton in there as you like (within reason of course). It doesn't matter if it is too long because of the way it is designed :thumb:. About hte machining mine was spot on but of course faulty products will happen eventually. You know this is to show what I always say about vaping, everyone has his own tastes and nothing is better that the other. One man's garbage is another's treasure :)
