Hello, dear friends, hope you’re all well. Today I want to share with you my very first vape gear analysis. On the table is the brand new Vladdin RE. And in my head are some personal thoughts about it. So, let’s dive in!

Disclaimer

Every stuff analysis are subjective and will ever be. As my objective here is to fully accept that and just share my thoughts about vaping gear I buy or receive, nothing more logical than present my vaping experience, my personal preferences and my targets when I vape. In that way I expect all of you, fellow friends and readers, will know exactly from what point this analysis is coming, and what I generally expect when I try a new device, since this expectation will always have an impact in my verdict. Please have this in mind when you read the following lines!

Who’s writing?

I'm a very recent vaper. Although my first experience was some years ago with a CE5 cartomizer and an eGo battery, it was a complete disaster and lasted only few weeks. Why? Because I was never a smoker. I'm essentially a hobbyist. For me, a good vaping experience has to have good taste and some good looking clouds. Not a lot, necessarily. But some good looking ones. Flavour, on the other side, is the boss. It needs to be great, or you'll have no deal with me. Gadget design matters, too. Technical and design innovation are warmly welcomed. And autonomy is a very important thing, too. I don't vape nicotine in any form - no need at all. Knowing all these personal interests any more experienced vaper will know well why a CE5 cartridge would never satisfy me. A brand new Vaporesso Revenger X kit bought last January, 2019, in Berlin, did it. And now I'm here to give you my thoughts about the Vladdin RE, earned here in ECF in a contest proposed by @Vladdinvapor_Alisa (thanks Alisa!). What’s my opinion about it? Let’s divide it in the classic “cons” and “pros”, than my final verdict.

CONS

Battery life - too short. Less than half the pod capacity. I can easily imagine an user in transit being in trouble with its failing device. And it's obvious to me this device was thought to be used, too, when in transit. For me, big con here.

No battery remaining capacity advice. No one at all. I can accept this is a very compact device, made to be the simplest one, but since it carries a LED that lights when you're vaping, I thing there's no point in denying it the capacity to blink, let's say, in yellow when the power is fading. Maybe that's just a personal opinion, but, again, it would be very useful in transit situations. That's another con for me.

Only one pod in the package. What? No spare? Here in Brazil it's very difficult to find vape gears to buy, and this device is not available in any local or online retailer. So, the day this pod burns, it'll be all over. Not a big con, but would be nice to receive at least two spares as happens with Breeze 2, Orion and Naked100 devices (four spares, in the last product).

Bureaucratic refill system. Maybe another personal con, but to have to take off the pod from battery, than the drip tip from pod, than another little silicone piece from the pod seems too much for me. Again, imagine this whole process when in transit. There's a huge chance to lost some of these little pieces and than, since there's no spare pod in the package, it's over.

PROS

Design. This thing is tiny, light and beautiful. Feels very comfortable in hands, in a way that a regular cigarette would feel. No, maybe more comfortable than a regular cigarette. The fact is: I found very difficult to put it in the pocket or stop playing with it in hands. When I could, though, it almost vanished in my jeans regular pockets. Obviously that's the way it meant to be, being a cigarette direct substitute but, hey: Vladdin did a great job here!

Materials. Great. This device is astonishingly well made, and it feels firm. No rattles at all. Pod sticks firmly in the battery (magnetically). No problems with microUSB port (I had some problems with it in the past, with another devices). Another big pro here.

Flavour. Please, let's avoid confusions: this isn't supposed to be a RTA or a dripper. It's a regular cigarette substitute, designed to be as simplest as possible. And, in being that, it has a good flavour. Fruity and citric juices performed well, but tobacco ones obviously excels. Again, that's the target of this device. I found Breeze 2 taste to be superior but, again, that's a different class of device. Naked100 device paled in comparison to this one. A very welcomed pro here.

Vapour. I must confess I'm impressed by the cloud production in this tiny device. Obviously, again, my Brunhilde RTA crushes it in vapor production, please let's avoid these silly comparisons, but for a cig-a-like device I found it very, very decent. And I like clouds, without it vaping lost a lot of the fun for me (remember, I'm hobbyist not an ex-smoker). The Vladdin RE satisfied me well in this matter, considering its size and weight. And it's very good, to, for a stealthy vape with shorter hits. For me, a surprising and much welcomed pro.

Hit sensor. Very accurate and reliable one. No fails at all, with a very speedy response. Almost as natural as hitting a regular cigarette. Big pro.

Refillable pods. For me, that’s a mandatory pro. No need to stuck only in pre-build pods with, most of times, weak flavours or too much (or lack of) nicotine. Here you can use your own juices, with your favourite flavours and your perfect concentration of nic. No compromises. As all vape stuff should be. Great pro!

VERDICT

The Vladdin RE isn’t for me. I like big clouds and insane flavour, and both of them comes only with big mods, powerful RTAs and RDAs or, at least, with bigger pod systems. That’s not the case. Vladdin RE was designed to be a regular cigarette substitute, and it achieves this objective perfectly. If you’re a smoker looking for a tiny device which helps you quit, so maybe you just found it. Vladdin RE is a great all-day companion, with a great cig-a-like design. The only con you have to have in mind is it’s poor battery life, as said above. But, hey, that’s a really tiny device. No way to put a big battery here. In the same time, if you’re looking for a great stealth vape device, than you, too, maybe just found it. Vladdin RE feels incredibly comfortable in hand and almost disappear in pockets. As it’s not meant to be a cloud factory, it won’t bother anyone if you want to vape, let’s say, in your office room. In fact I doubt anyone will even notice you’re vaping. In a few words, if you want a tiny and stealth vaping device, very capable but not so stellar, and you’ll always have a wall plug next to you, than this is a very good device. In all other cases, maybe it’s better to look a little bit further.

Vladdin RE is available online at $22.95, which I consider a little bit too much for a device which comes with no spare pods.

Thanks for reading, flavourful clouds to everybody!
