I just got a bottle of juice from one of the more popular vendors on the forums. I was a little thrown off when I noticed a cat/dog hair sticking out from under the bottles label.. I would believe they stick on the label right after bottling, so it makes me wonder if their mixing station is really as clean as I want to believe it is? I'm not going to name the vendor, just thought I'd share to hear what others here would think if this situation happened to them?

I understand your point. But is that really the standard we want to set for our e-liquids?

I doubt it's standard practice.
It's just a hair.
A hair under the label to boot.
Not in the juice...

There is much worse in the food we eat, the water we drink, & the air we breathe.

We've got 2 german shepherds and 2 white cats. As diligent as we are at pet hair removal, it still gets *everywhere*. It doesn't mean we are sloppy. I dont know how I'd feel if I were in this situation, though. If I were making juice for a living, I'd have to be absolutely .... to ensure that kind of thing doesn't happen. Even mixing juice in a location other than my house wouldn't be enough... it follows you wherever you go.

I only order from places with labs

Doesn't insure anything...I've been in "labs" that weren't as clean as my bathroom.

This morning, I bought a fountain slushy at Speedway. When I got to the car I noticed a black speck on top of it. Closer inspection revealed a gnat had landed there. What did I do? I picked the gnat off of it and drank it. I probably picked up more germs and grossness from the handle on the slushy machine than the gnat had on its body. Living in a bubble is a lonely place.

I really don't mind the fact that it's on the outside of the bottle. The reason I'm a little concerned, like I stated in my initial post, is that I believe vendors label their bottles in the same location as they mix them. If a hair can end up sticking out from under a label, then it can definitely also end up in the bottle.

Also, it is a highly reputable vendor. One that I know makes a very nice amount of income mixing and selling their juices. I would think, after a couple years in the business, that they would have invested in a clean lab for their business. Not just mixing it in their basement, garage, etc.

I DIY on the desk in the bedroom. To speed up steeping, I take the glass mixing container downstairs to the kitchen to microwave it for a few (15) seconds. With 8 cats and a Cocker Spaniel, invariably, when I get back upstairs there's a fuzzy floating. I'm aware it's not the most hygenic mixing conditions, but I used to inhale tar. I'm cool with it once I pick it out.

As a vendor, I would be overly concerned about the cleanliness of my workstation and packaging, though. I'm sure the vendor would be appreciative of a note to inform them.

I'd be ok as long as it wasn't in my juice. I have two dogs and I know that their hair goes everywhere with me. In fact, even though I've vacuumed my car many, many times, I still have dog hair in my car from a dog i haven't had in years. That stuff never goes away, it seems.

I can also see how it would be disturbing to someone, though.
