So a little more clarification. About a year ago, Apple started cracking down on ejuice apps; specifically ejuice calculator. If you already have an app installed Apple will not remove it from your device. However, if an upgrade comes along that breaks the app, the developer will not be able to submit an update. Equally, new apps are rejected siting their drug, tabacco and alcohol clause. I had an app called ejuicer recipes in the app store. After submitting an ios8 update, Apple rejected the app and stated that I would need to remove the app or the calculation feature or the app would be removed and it was.

If you search for your favorite ios8 ejuice calculator on the App Store, you will find that it's either gone or the calculator feature has been removed. Case in point an app called ejuice one which had a calc feature. The dev removed it but kept it in the App Store with no recipe and calc feature. The reviews bash the developer and called the app useless. Which it unfortunately is; no fault of the developer.

Please take the time to do your own research if you are skeptical. But please do not allow this to continue. Please support the petition.

Thanks Kirk.

Signed on principle. Nicotine is not tobacco and if they're concerned about health, they should support a tool to help people quit!

Note: I'm happy with my current calculator, but I support the right of developers to try to make a better one or one that may compliment the one I use. I removed the calculator I downloaded ages ago from my device. Can't find it anymore...

Let's raise our voice! EB and PP are targeting and banning e-cig related products. Enough is enough.

I'd sign a petition to dump Apple altogether. There are plenty of ejuice cals out there. Don't need Apple.

With all due respect. It's not about dumping apple and it's not about apple vs. android. It's about me as a developer and you all as potential customers having choices that aren't policed by companies like Apple. Policing that is based on legality issues , copyright infringement etc are all good. Pollicing based on individual bias or discrimination is simply unfare and bad business.

I love having my recipe book and calculator on my phone. It's handy if nothing else. I know others enjoyed it too. But now we are being targeted and unable to continue to develop updates that make our products better, unable to continue to offer software that we have put a significant amount of time and money into. Equally, as a consumer, our access to these products have been removed.

I respect you as a developer, but I'm not one of your potential customers. I agree, it's not about Apple vs Android. I could care less about software platform. I despise Apple as a company and would applaud them going bankrupt. You gotta respect that.

Besides, there aren't enough vapers in the world to make Apple change their policy. They have identified vaping as being tobacco related and due to PC don't want anything to do with it. You might as well petition Chick-Fil-A to issue gay discount coupons. You're wasting your time.

Just keepin' it real. No disrespect intended.

Lol on the chick fil a. I get your point. But as a developer, I have seen these efforts pay off. Actually Apple just recently changed their toon on a medicinal mj app allowing it with reagonal restrictions. So, it's definately possible. I've always been a believer of speaking up and I have often been rewarded when I did. It's all, about setting expectations. But we can go on right. So hey, thanks for the debate. I hope folks on this forum that would like to voice their opinion and will. If we roll over on every restriction and regulation that people want to impose on us, vaping will become synonymous with smoking. It's pretty much already there.

Well, sorry you're not going to make money selling your app.
It really sucks that apple would do this.
But I have to disagree with you as i see this is a classic example of a reason to use an android phone and not an iphone.

I hate Apple too, but there is this option :

On your iPhone there's an app called calculator which, when you type numbers in, calculates them.

They are fortunate. I found one other that still remains in the apps store. Last summer when I released my app, there were roughly 5-6. I was told that my app was not the only one that was targeted.

Just as an FYI. My app was a test app to see what the process would be like submitting an app. Originally I just wanted to create something simple for myself. When I first released the app, it was free with some adware which was placed out of the way from the controls. No surprise, I received very little revenue from ads (about $10/month). Again, this was educational for me and not intended to make a small fortune. However. I decided I would add a remove ads in app purchase. Upon submitting my updates, I was rejected. I had been previously rejected by apple but made some minor changes that somehow let me pass. However, after speaking with them directly, I was informed that it's the premise of the app that is causing it to be rejected and that similar apps were being removed / reject. This occurred 4-5 months ago. Since it wasn't about the money, I wrote it off. However, the principle has been festering and finally pushed me to do something about it.

It may amount to nothing. As stated above, Apple will probably, continue to be a liberal nanny. That said, regardless of the outcome, I will always voice my opinion. That's my right. Wait .... Is it still a right?

Thanks everyone for the civilized banter.

I can say without question Apple sucks balls. I will never buy their products and be linked to their proprietary hell. I am working developing apps for Android and Apple at this moment. Apple is a complete and utter pain in the rump to use in general. They might change their mind but I doubt it. Why not call your app something else like make is sound scientific for formulation calculations. It is the same thing and you could get it past them. Just omit all the nic and juice talk and keep it down to real science. But then I guess if you did that people that actually knew science wouldn't need an app at all.

I think what most people need seems to be a basic math class! These are not complex calculations folks. If you use weight it is truly so very easy. Note your weights precisely, taste and if you hit the taste it is simply a matter of a multiplier to scale it up. I realize my background lends itself to understanding how simple it is with a pencil and paper and calculator if needed. Just seems like basic school math should cover most people on this forum for how to do these calculations by hand and then scale them up.

Calculator is handy for a doublecheck, or just a quick precise answer.
Like when all you have is 36 mg nic, but you're mixing 14, and you want to see how adding another flavor will effect your VG/PG ratio, which you want at 57/43. LOL. True story.

Anyway - on principal, it'd be nice to see a campaign succeed to enlighten Apple that e-liquid is not tobacco. It is often used in calculating the quantity of a drug - nicotine - but I'm guessing there are apps related to other recipes including comparable ingredients (caffeine, sugar...). Not a fan of apple products, and guess why? Partly because they screw me up by taking CONTROL away from me (like where my files are located, or what they're named) - not surprised the app store is run with a similar philosophy - "we know what's good for you better than you do".
