So not true. Especially now that he's older. He plays a rather minor role in The Place Beyond the Pines, but all he needs to do is stare with his eery eyes to make chills run up and down your spine.

Oh, oh, a remake of Waterworld, here come the vapors!!!
I can see Bogart noticing Bacall trying to vape while her battery is blinking yellow, he coyly walk up, opens his suit jacket revealing multiple pockets with numerous liquids and batteries, he reaches in and offers a charged battery. Love at first vape!
Up in Vape, better stay away from that one.
John Wayne in a tee-pee vaping on a peace PV.
O boy, we could have fun with this one.

Sailing with tons of batts, a juice factory at the bottom of the ship.....nyyyyyyyce.

Ok I haven't seen him in anything since Good Fellas
so I am stuck in time warp.
But now that you bring it into perspective yeah I'm feelin it.

Years ago (2 or 3, maybe 4), a Hollywood Producer (or Director?) intrigued by the eCig, asked us (in a little forum I called home) if we'd like Hollywood to introduce vaping, replace smoking in films. We, of course, happily consented.
I don't know if he/she ever posted again, but slowly but surely, vaping was indeed seen here and there, in tv and theater. The Tourist was a huge break through, because Mr. Depp explained the concept as well as showed that it is dorky, not cool, to vape, but even so it is much less dangerous and doesn't yellow your teeth. :)
Good guys, bad guys, psychos all are spotted today here and there.
No petition is needed... They already know, and they are, IMO, doing an excellent job of not pegging them with one type of character only. Just like smoking, there was no one type to describe the smoker. Priests, nurses, doctors, mothers, fathers, bikers, prisoners, rich, poor, green, orange, were all portrayed and that's how eCigs are too so far.

With that said, the skits are fun, go for it!

Hmmm. I haven't seen The Tourist. I'll check it out. Thanks.

I think one of the best ways to spread the word about vaping is through Hollywood. Last night I watched Machete Kills and was thinking for such a film supposedly set in a futuristic America, why were people still smoking analogs instead of vaping? If vaping was featured prominently in even a single popular film, it would spread the word to the masses. I mean, how many people have seen or will eventually see the newest Superman film: just about everyone. We need to petition Hollywood to accept the fact that vaping is the future and to portray the future realistically by depicting "smokers" in the future as "vapers" instead.
There are a number of high-profile Hollywood vapers...

Leonardo DiCaprio and Katherine Heigl come to mind.
And there are many, many others.

And yes, they can make a HUGE difference in the acceptance of vaping.
But I think in the current climate where nicotine users are druggies, their agents make sure they don't get involved.

As with every issue related to vaping there is only one answer that solves everything...
Get the public to equate nicotine use with caffeine use.

That is all.

It would be nice if vaping was somehow subject matter for a tv show in a positive way. Have a character who smokes but then discovers vaping. Too bad Katherine Heigl isn't still on Grey's Anatomy. Doctor who smokes switches to vaping. It could be a whole storyline of a character trying to stop smoking, tries various methods that fail and then successfully switches to vaping. It would be great for a character on Scandal. Someone call Shonda Rhimes.

You do have a point. Hollywood does tend to bring attention and help to desensitize the general public to issues. Just take Ellen Degeneres and her TV sitcom. When she came out in that show it was groundbreaking. It lead to having more gays on TV, essentially desensitizing the general public and allowing gays to be more accepted.

Hollywood can be a powerful tool.
Why am I the only one who has liked this post so far?
