The Muscovy Drake (I called him Patrick) was dumped at a lake near where I live so I adopted him and he has been in love with my duck (Roxie), always follows her around and will get anxious when she is not in sight. My cat was a stray who was born on our doorstep, she likes to hang out with the ducks and sleeps inside at night. Pretty much have to trick her out of sleeping in the duck house most nights, don't like her being outside at night.
I haven't clipped the ducks wings and they can fly pretty good but if they have food and somewhere to swim and another duck to pal around with they are too lazy to bother going anywhere .. They have 3 ponds to swim in and just patrol the yard from sunrise to sunset .. excellent at snail/slug control!
