So, I know I'm allergic to my dog and he recently started sleeping in our bed (I know I know)... Around that time, and around the time I started vaping, I developed some red dry skin spots. They are about the size of a cig burn and kind of look like a mosquito bite. They aren't clustered...2 on my right arm, 2 on my right thigh, 2 on my left calf and a couple on both sides of my stomach. They also aren't itchy.

Has anyone had this kind of reaction to PG or VG? I have only vaped PG so far...

Has anyone had this type of skin reaction to a pet allergy?

I'm really leaning toward this being a PG reaction or just dry skin from the winter, but I do lotion up everyday and have even switched lotions to rule that out. I dont think it's the dog...

I have now washed all the bedding, kicked the dog out, and I've stopped vaping today. I put a nicotine patch on and hope to not vape this week to see what happens. If it goes away, I'll reintroduce vaping and try to isolate the 2.

Ughhhh

I have problems with red splotches due to allergies. I also get a very sore throat with straight PG so I use VG or a VG/PG mix.
I also have a son with asthma and have a dog. Go to your pet store and check into the danger kill stuff---believe it or not, it will help.
You can get it in liquid form where you can spray or spread on the dog, or you can get it where it's in the shampoo.

I get the liquid so I can spray it on things around the house, and put it in my rug shampooer.

Sounds like Hives. Hives are a common reaction to PG allergies. I've read many posts about exactly what you are describing.

Good luck

Hives are very itchy so I doubt it's hives.

There are a couple of great over the counter remedies for allergies (I'm mildly allergic to dogs and severely allergic to cats and run a pet rescue - 15-20 animals in the house at any given time)
One is nasal crom - nasal spray that coats the receptors in your nose and stops all inhaled allergens (doesn't do anything for symptoms except stop them from continuing)
The other is OPT Con A allergy eye drops...stops the itching on contact...I wouldn't survive in my own house without these 2 products. Both can be gotten at Walmart inexpensively. Hope this helps

Hives aren't necessarily always itchy. People can get hives without any itchiness or pain at all.
But they aren't generally dry red spots either, they are usually raised red bumps.

I would recommend that the OP see their doctor about these spots and let a professional make the diagnosis rather than all us "armchair docs" trying to diagnose without even seeing the patient.

Raised red bumps, the kind that look like a mosquito bite? :p

I have my armchair doctorate. I keep it beside my backseat drivers license, handy at all times.

Just kidding, you're quite right, best to get a doctor's advice over ours.

My husband revoked my backseat drivers license years ago. 8-o
