The difference between PG and VG is that Propylene Glycol has a chemical composition of C3-H8-O2, while Vegetable Glycerin has a chemical composition of C3-H5-(OH)3. So, the only difference is that VG has an extra oxygen atom attached. VG is thicker in consistency and pure VG is actually about the consistency of a thin maple syrup. PG is thinner, almost like water. More people seem to have allergic reactions to PG than VG but most reactions are very mild such as irritation in the throat. VG is supposed to give better vapor, while PG gives more throat hit. Most people mix the 2 types in their e-juice to get a "best of both worlds" compromise. Does that give you the information you were looking for?

Some PG juice is a little drying on the throat. Also, while almost all tobacco juices with good TH are PG blends, Boba's Bounty is all VG and I think it has decent TH. Almost all the juices that I feel do well as analog replacements are PG blends.

One thing that doesn't get brought up often is that while some people have a PG sensitivity and PG can be drying, VG is mucilaginous (that means it makes your body produce more mucus) and when I vape more VG I do notice that I frequently have to clear my throat.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate all this info. I'm knew and trying to learn as much as I can. Have a lot of friends that wanting to get started vaping but waiting to see how it works for me. I get flooded with questions I just can't answer. I direct them here but they are not much for reading. So I guess its up to me. Let me say that vaping, to me personally seems to have changed my life!! I'm done with cigarettes and thought I would never quit. I've tried everything only to fail but this seems to be IT!! It's like I never stopped smoking at all.

Anyway, thanks for the info, it is deeply appreciated. Keep it coming.

As far as I know the VG/PG e-juice mix is as good as using pure VG or pure PG. And as safe? I hope I'm right.

A little bit of info. I have a 100% vg eliquid infront of me (some chocolate blend) at 11 MG of nic and when i exhale you can't see my face anymore. it's shrouded by vapor. but ZERO Throat hit.

I also have some RY-4 here that is 26mg and pure PG.
Reckless throat hit and not much vapor production AT ALL.

A perfect mix is in my opinion is 50/50

There are a quite a number of PEG's. The basic chemical structure is HO-CH2-(CH2-O-CH2-)n-CH2-OH, however it varies slightly from one to another, adding more molecules to the chain as they increase in complexity. Some are harmless and are used in the cosmetic and medical industries, others are harmful. When dealing with PEG's you have to know a bit about biology and chemistry to determine if they are acceptable to use or not. Personally, although I have a bit of chemistry in my background, I am not familiar enough with these compounds to make that determination. Since Propylene Glycol and Vegetable Glycerin have both been shown to have no ill effects, at least in the short term, I will continue to use these products, avoiding the PEG's and any hazards which might be associated with them.

I'm not sure if it's just me but strate PG liquids give me heart burn lol. I'm a lighting designer for concerts and events so I thought it may have been bad food at a venue. The next day I worked my .... off and ate nothing while vamping all day, really bad heart burn and indigestion. Since I have switched to a mix of PG and Vg, I think it soaks the a tty better and no heart burn.
