Hi
I was wondering if anyone knew where I can buy pure PG and VG USP in canada particularily Calgary. I called Walmart and they said they don't carry it. Alot of ppl in the US seem to get it from walmart down there. Do I need to call other walmarts? Can someone plz help me out? Also does anyone know if there are any good flavoring that I can buy from stores or if I should get them from the vape sites. If there is a recent thread on this already can you link to as well

Thanks

VG can be obtained in some pharmacies - some being the operative word. I recall buying a bottle of glycerin in a drugstore in Barrie when I was a kid.
In the states, PG can be purchased at Tractor Supply. It has something to do with medicine for cattle - so it might be possible to find something similar in Canada - Co-Op stores or whatever is in your area.

I didn't have a problem getting my pharmacist at Pharma Plus to order me a bottle. I had a story about making soap all prepared, but he just checked his cupboard when I asked about it and said, "I'll have to order some. Can I have your name and phone number?"

$9.25 taxes in, next-day no shipping for 500 mL. You won't see it on the shelves, though.

Glycerin USP is available on shelves. I know some people have an issue with something that doesn't specify "Vegetable" in it, but I figure if it's 99.7% pure (it has to be, to be rated USP) C3H8O3, there's not much room for any impurities anyway.

You're right. Whether its derived from animal or plant based sources, the chemical makeup is identical. Having said that, vegetable derived glycerin might be a good choice for those with religious obligations, or for the guy across the street that cultivates dandelions in his front yard for salad and screams at the neighbors when they put steak on the BBQ. :)

Anyway, I thought I read somewhere that the Shoppers brand glycerin was manufactured by a company that uses plant based sources to produce their glycerin. The name of the company escapes me now, but there is a sticky somewhere on this forum about it. I've been using it now for a few months with no problems, and I just dilute the 500ml bottle with 10% distilled water then fill 30ml dropper bottles with it for easy mixing (I don't have any long syringes).

oooo... not to jack your thread, but I have to ask Battlelance a question, and as others might find the answer interesting also, I'll do it here.... I noticed in your signature:

Vaping Now: Dekang DK-Tab, DIY Ecto, DIY Blueberry Cinnamon Crumble.

I just got a bottle of Capella's Blueberry Cinnamon Crumble. Is that what you used, perchance? If so, I'd be interested to know your "recipe" if you're willing to share. It'll be one of my very first forays into DIY, and I'd love a little guidance to up my chances of success.
Thanks!

Yup, this thread has been officially hijacked. lol.

48mg PG base
15mg/10ml
70pg/30vg

Capella blueberry cinn. crumble 8% 0.8ml
TPA Blueberry Extra 5% 0.5ml

I'm still playing around with the recipe, but so far I like this the best. I find blueberry cinnamon crumble doesn't have much blueberry taste to it, so I added Blueberry Extra (which tastes awesome imo), but the more blueberry extra you add, the more it hides the cinnamon/crumble part so its a real pain to get things just right. Oh, and you can vape it right away, but it really should steep or it has a real sharp TH (at least it does in a T2). I vape it on a twist at 3.4 - 3.6v for best flavour. If you play around with the recipe and come up with someone yummier, please let me know what you did so I can give it a whirl.

Ummm... I feel pretty stupid here, but I'm not sure I follow.... I'm new, and kinda silly.... so you have to speak slowly and don't use any big words heh heh ;)

Here's what I'm unclear on:

48mg PG base <--- Huh? Is this the nicotine solution? how much do you use in mls?
15mg/10ml <--- I have no idea what this line means
70pg/30vg <--- this I get.... no problem here

Capella blueberry cinn. crumble 8% 0.8ml <--- got it
TPA Blueberry Extra 5% 0.5ml <--- got it

I happen to already have premixed base that's 70PG/30VG and 24mg. So I was just going to use it and add flavor..... but I was wondering what percentage (strength) flavoring you used. I don't have extra blueberry though, so maybe I'll just combine your ratios, for roughly 13% flavor and go from there. I did read that you can use up to 20% flavor, so that will give me room to move.... I guess it's a lot easier to add a drop than take one away!

48mg PG base. Yeah, its the nic base. The bottle I have is 48mg nicotine in 100% PG.
15mg/10ml. Means the recipe is good for 15mg nic in a 10ml bottle of juice.

You should get the e-juice calculator from Breaktru. You can enter all the numbers in I gave you, but change your base to whatever base you have, and it will adjust everything accordingly. Payroll Software BREAKTRU SOFTWARE Shareware Freeware Business Family Payroll Withholding

So, for your nic base:

Nic 70/30 24mg Base
Target Nic 15mg
Amount to make 10mg

Nic 6.25ml / 62.5%
PG 1.32ml / 13.2%
VG 1.12ml / 11.2%
Cap Blueberry Cinn. Crumble 0.8ml / 8%
Blueberry Extra 0.5ml / 5%.

Blueberry Extra 0.5ml / 5%.

Well I came pretty close. I was shooting for 16mg juice though so my numbers were close:
70/30 24mg - 65%
Pure PG - 14%
Pur VG - 6%
Blueberry Cinn. Crumble - 15% (I went heavy to compensate for milder flavor and not having blueberry flav)

But this is all theoretical..... still waiting for pure PG and VG to arrive ;)

Cool tip on the software, I'll look into that! Thanks! :)
