I ordered my first bottles of straight PG and straight VG and while I had heard that VG was sweet, I wasn't expecting the PG to be sweet too. Is it normal for PG to be sweet? I got them from madvapes. I swear they have more flavor than some juices I've ordered. I'm 7 weeks in and am basically over nicotine. Might just start vaping this pure stuff as I like a mildly sweet flavor.

Another thing...I notice my face is breaking out pretty bad and I'm kinda old. I get a pimple every once in a while but right now I have around 10 on my face. I presume it's a coincidence but gotta ask if this has been reported before?

I'm not an expert on your PG question, but the "quit zits" (acne) are a fairly common symptom of quitting smoking in general. They're not a result of vaping. Your body is getting rid of tobacco toxins in many ways, including through the skin. Your hormones are also adjusting back to normal. The acne should pass in a few weeks. I got lucky, I got them on my body and not my face!

Hang in there, it's worth some temporary spots. :)

Not sure on the sweetness thing. I've always heard that PG is basically flavorless while VG is slightly sweet, which I assume is what you were thinking as well.

PG may pull more water out of your system than VG, so it is possible that you are slightly more dehydrated than before, thus concentrating the natural skin oil coming out of your pores or causing your body to exude more of said oil. I'd try upping your water consumption to see if that helps. Also keep in mind that if there was a rapid increase in humidity where you live, that may be to blame. I know that it very quickly went from cool and dry to warm and humid here in MN, and I've gotten a little acne recently where I normally never get any.

I started breaking out really bad about 6 months into vaping exclusively. Everyone says it was from quitting smoking and not from vaping, but who really knows for sure.
I thought it was using high VG juices at first, so I tried vaping 100%PG for a while and the 100%VG for a while to see if either one made a difference. There was no difference.

I tried a few things to help my symptoms. Using a peroxide based cleanser (The Acne Free system is doing a great job) helps a lot. My acne is 90% better. It was really bad for a while.

Also, drinking plenty of water helps some, too.

Hopefully this too shall pass.

Alrighty. I figured out whey the PG was sweet. It's MadVapes. They are diluting their PG and VG with some type of sweetener.

I just got some 99.5% pure USP VG from CVS and while it has a detectable sweetness, it's no where near as sweet as MadVapes stuff.

Since the CVS stuff is undiluted, it's really thick too. I've got them in CE5's and when you flip them over, MadVapes's takes 1 second to settle while the CVS's takes 20 seconds.

It's way cheaper too. It normally sells for 3 cents per mL but they currently have a 2 for 1 sale where I bought it so that 1.5 cents per mL. MadVapes sells it @ 18 cents per mL at their biggest bottle size (50 mL $8.99)!

$2.64 for 177 mL right now (at least where I'm living).
