PG tastes awful

So I just got y new vape, and I was testing out some flavors over at my local smoke shop and they all just tasted like rancid horse .... They all seem to be PG based similar to that of e-cigs but the taste is just unbearably awful and one of the most disgusting things I have ever experienced in my life.

Firstly I want to ensure you it was flavor and not the vapes.

Why is this? Why do e-cigs not taste like that?

Actually, e-cigs or cigalikes probably use a higher Pg ratio than those meant for more advanced devices.

Pg (propylene glycol) does have a harsher taste than does Vg (vegetable glycerin). It's often said that Pg carries the flavors better than Vg, and is also responsible for a lot of the "throat hit" in vapor.

I have a feeling that you shouldn't base your findings from just one source (the vape shop you visited). It may be that the vape shop is just carrying lousy flavors, maybe made in the back room of the store.

Spectrumvapor.com is the brand and I just noticed it is part VG as well. Is the flavor from the VG?

The smell is just as repugnant as well by the way.

No, and it tasted the same in multiple vapes.

I agree, PG taste like crap. That is why I don't add any PG to my diy mix.

OK, Like I said above. It turns out is spectrumvapors.com and the mix is VG and PG but it has a strong rancid flavor to it that my mother describes as roasted peanuts like but to me is more like old musty socks.

My question is which base adds that kind of flavor? The PG or VG or is it just a bad e-juice?

Both Pg and Vg can carry flavor. To my knowledge they don't have a flavor of their own. Flavoring agents are used to add specific flavor to e-liquid, some natural and some artificial.

I think you've tasted "bad e-juice".

Uhg, I thought it was a pure mint flavor but it is "virginia tobacco" flavored as well. I think that might be it. God is this stuff awful though. It was the "Everest" flavor.

Tobacco flavors are very hit and miss. I Tried several when I started vaping,best I found was American Tobacco from Mt Baker - let it oxidize/steep for a couple weeks in the closet. I've since graduated to other flavors, love green apple and pear...

Yeah, +1. PG is pretty neutral, VG is slightly sweet. I think you got some bad juice. Some of it is pretty nasty.
