PG USP - Holy ..... this stuff is hard to find.

I'm usually pretty resourceful but holy crap USP grade PG is hard to find!! So far the closest I have come is a "Propylene Glycol - Oral Solution" Veterinary Use Only - From an agricultural / livestock store .. The label doesn't say USP anywhere on it so I am not going to chance that .... .. PLUS, it lists Choline Chloride, Potassium Iodide and Cobalt Sulfate among the active ingredients .. No literature (Tech. Specs, MSDS, etc) I can find on PG lists these nasty ....ers anywhere. No Thanks !!

I have also found one large company that distributes PG USP but will not sell privately and the compounding pharmacies I've contacted will not sell it either.

Wow. All I had to do was ask my pharmacist at Wal-Mart if they carried it. They asked what it was for, said it was only available in 500ml sizes, then said "it'll be about 24 hours - that ok?"

Couldn't have been easier.

Maybe my approach is wrong? What did you say it was for?

Try amazon.ca. I found a gallon of USP PG for CDN$34.89 plus CDN$30.49 shipping (wow! shipping north of the border sure is expensive!).

Looks good though. USP is USP!

I just grabbed the yellow pages and started calling compounding pharmacies in the area.
Took about 6 calls to find one in a nearby town.
Make sure the best before date is a year or two out.
Apparently old pg can affect your breathing negatively. Thanks Switcher!
