PG-VG age and safety

I have 1-liter of PG and 1-liter of VG unopened in white plastic bottles (essential depot) that has been sitting in fridge since purchased on 12/15/14. I have read somewhere that plasticizers could leach out over long periods.

Is my PG/VG still safe???

I also use Essential depot's PG and VG but store them in their original plastic containers at room temperature in a dark place. I've used some that was over two years old and could tell no difference in clarity or taste to freshly bought, YMMV.

I have read studies about the leaching process and it appears to occur most under extremes of heat and UV light, so I would expect your PG and VG to be just fine. I am using the same liquids in the translucent bottles and have stored the bottles in a fairly dark place at room temperature without any noticeable change in my mixes.

I'm not looking at my notes right now...away from home, but I recall an approximate 900 day limit to PG/VG, as at some point contaminants will eventually grow.

Just a side note.. I bet we get more plastic leaching from our microwaved meals .. just saying.
