Hey all! I have seen these answers but cannot find them with the search so I'm asking the question here. I am about ready to try an order from MBV and I don't remember the purposes of PG and VG clearly. If memory serves, PG carries flavor better. I know one of these provides a better TH and one provides better vapor but I don't recall which is which. So the question is what do you like in PG/VG mixture and why? Thanks!

I have not payed as much attention to this as I think I should have.

I might be one of those cats that needs a lower PG rating in my juice. I know I am supposed to stay more hydrated while vaping, but which of the two, PG or VG is supposed to dehydrate you more? I think most of my juices are 70/30. It seems that with non creamy sweet juices like tobaccos and fruits irritate my throat more often. I usually don't have problems with flavors like vanilla or waffles.

I suppose I should attempt to get some 50/50.

Excellent info as always from the group! Thanks!

I had pretty much settled on 50/50 but was not sure. Most of the mass produced juices I have been vaping were 70/30 and that was OK but if I was going to order from MBB then I had CHOICES to make.

I'm hoping this won't be a mistake. So far I have only had to opportunity to taste one set of fresh made juices and they were all harsh as hell! That is probably the single reason I have not placed an order or two from a couple of these places like MBV already.

Well, I think I am ready to pull the trigger.

Thanks again!

The "V" in VG stands for Vapor. That's how I always keep it straight. I settled on 50/50 for all my DIY. I like the balance between throat hit (lower PG) and vapor level (higher VG). It does need thinned a little to work well in a carto tank.

Ratchet62 from my Nexus 7

What if you didn't care about throat hit but liked a fair amount of vapor and max flavor?
Thanks.

Just remember that when a place gives you the choice of what Ratio that you want your juice, it's probably "made to order" Meaning it will be very fresh when you get it...which translates to this...they probably will need to steep some time before their full flavor comes out. I've found MBV juices need to steep at least 3 days after I get it...some as long as a week before I can enjoy them.

Behind you!
My Mt Baker experience was all bad! If you order through them use caution! You get what you pay for... cheap juice!

PG/VG was already explained so I wont bother there. One thing I will add though, is PG is more the flavor carrier, and VG adds some sweetness (a little) on its own. PG can irritate the throat of some people like a allergic reaction... although its less common. Which is why you see higher VG than PG ratios... or every 100% VG juices. For the most part a 50/50 balance is good. Dont be afraid to experiment! Happy Vaping!

For the most part, I prefer 50/50. Sometimes it depends on the juice. For me, too much PG is a little harsh and sometimes gives me a sore throat. Everyone is different. Best to try some different combos to see what you like best. Many of the venders that have been around for a while will let you choose your ratio. Some will even give you the option of an extra hit of flavor. Its been my experience that it is all about the juice. Especially if you have a modest set up, get the best quality juice you can afford. It makes all the difference...;-) GL
