How can I determine how much PG or VG is in a flavoring? I have some Loranns (bavarian cream and cheesecake) and they have PG and VG respectively, but the ingredients dont list amount. Is it going to be enough to throw a recipe off?
I have made several juices and I have never even thought of this questions. Good point. I'm sure someone that knows more than me will come along and answer. I just use the eJuiceMeUp calculator. I normally go with 100% in pg flavoring. There are some fantastic DIY threads on here that have really helped me. The Flavor Apprentice thread has a list that is very helpful in knowing what percentage of a flavor to use. Good luck to you DIY'ing. I hope you have as much fun as I do with it. I would also suggest the vaping Zone's gourmet and super concentrated flavorings. You use a lot less in a recipe so I feel like it is more economical. They have some fantastic flavors.
I used the ejuiceMeUp as well, perhaps I'll just tick the PG/VG box to see how it changes the recipe. Just made a Mothers Milk clone last night and I'm struggling with letting it steep before trying it out. Smells fantastic so far!
Most flavors use either 5% solid flavor molecules to 95% pg/vg or 10% solid flavor molecules to 90% pg/vg. In regards to calculations just treat it as 100% PG or 100% VG respectivly.
If the molecules are in alcohol then calculate pg/vg at 0% (In e-juice me up just check the box next to each flavor to zero out the flavor).
I was curious about this as well. For instance, I looked on Perfumers Apprentice and found the msds/ingredients lists for all of their food grade flavorings. The majority have pg listed as >=10%.
I also use ejuicemeup. Should I still keep pg marked as 100% for the flavor? Or would it be 10%?
