Hey guys,
Just started vaping, and haven't touched the half pack of leftover analogs sitting now in my closet for 5 days now!

I have a few questions about PG/VG.
I've done lots of reading but nothing that really addresses my questions in particular.

From what I've read so far:
Some people react poorly to PG.
PG tends to carry more flavor and throat hit, while VG tends to produce more vapor.

I originally purchased 80/20 juice, and felt that it might be a little strong on my throat for chain vape sessions.
I also thought I might have had something along the lines of mild heaviness in my respiratory system, though this might just be my imagination. So, I ordered a few bottles of 20/80 juice.

I've found that the higher VG is a lot more viscous and makes it harder adequately shake my bottles.
Will this added thickness affect my coils? I've read a few things about higher VG shortening the life of your coils. Any truth to this?

What are the general advantages/disadvantages of various PG/VG ratios and what do you guys tend to prefer?
I'm going to try to just experiment with a lot of different mixes to find out what works for me, but I'd be very interested to hear what you more experienced vapors have discovered works for you.

Anyone out there vaping 100% VG?
I also saw an option on MBV for 70VG/30 distilled water. Has anyone tried this?
I tried adding a few drops of water to my evod that was filled with 80/20 and got a lot of gurgling and a terrible vape, so kind of hesitant to try this.

Many thanks!

I have both PG, VG, and 70/30 PG/VG. I personally like 70/30 best thus far. Decent TH and flavor with decent vapor. Keep in mind PG does add TH but so does the nicotine level. My Johnson Creek smoke juice I originally got in a sampler that was 18mg and had a slightly higher TH than I really liked. I ordered the 11mg nicotine and the TH was perfect for me. Same juice just different nicotine strength made the difference for me.

I've tried most of the different Pg/Vg ratio's. I know that I don't like 100 Pg (too harsh, minimal vapor). 100% Vg was satisfying flavor-wise if allowed to steep, with lots of vapor.

What I do now when purchasing e-liquids from a new vendor is see what the vendor recommends. They know what works best for them and their customers. If no such recommendation, I now order a 50/50 Pg/Vg ratio. Seems to be the best of both worlds for me.

Hi

100 VG user here - I'm allergic to PG.

You have the basics right.

As far as shaking goes - it only helps so much unless you are already making DIY liquids. Not really a concern in your PG/VG debate.

I'm coming to the conclusion that the flavorings in liquids are the bigger factor in what gunks up a coil more than the PG/VG ratio. I can get by cleaning my Kanger stuff coils once a week with thick 100 VG lquids in play. But some "atty killer" flavors can crap up a coil in less than two days no matter what the PG/VG ratio. Very dark or very sweet liquids seem to be the biggest offenders.

The only point to adding water to a liquid is to thin it. Since almost all high PG stuff is very thin to begin with it's really not necessary. But thick VG will break down and thin with very little water added to it. And as you have already found out it's pretty easy to go too far - you can't vape water...

I have tried the MBV 70 VG/30 h2o and it is thinner than their usual 100 VG stuff. But unless you are using a device that has a particular problem keeping up with wicking their thicker 100 VG, then added water won't bring anything to the table for you.

How do you guys go about diluting your thick juices?
I've tried water but with poor results.

If you're talking about something like a 3.5 ml clearo, most likely not a full 3..5 ml's in there - one small drop at a time. Trying to do it straight from a faucet is a disaster waiting to happen.

I mix my own and it varies but my "default" preference is 40% PG / 60% VG. How much water did you use? That should work unless you're getting carried away.

I just dipped my finger into a glass of filtered water and let the drop that formed on my finger slide down the inside of my tank.
I probably only added no more than 6 drops or so. Maybe too much?

I went with the default for my go-to vendor (MBV) which was 80/20 I think... but learned I wanted a lot more vapor so on this next order I got all 50/50 mixes. Throat hit is still good and flavor is still good, vapor production is kind of lacking but it may be due to my clearo (been having issues with this particular CE4 but it simply might be a bad one. hmph.). On my next order I may do some 50/50, some 30/70 or whatever is offered... anyway, more VG than PG. But I'll just add extra flavor shots in case VG mutes the flavor too much.

Im interested in the mbv 70/30 vg/h20 mix as well. Wanted to try out 100% vg but im too lazy to modify the tiny DCT cart holes. Wondering if this mix is gonna give me a big dip in TH as im normally a 50/50 pg/vg guy, or if i should compensate with extra flavor shots and/or more nic content. Wanted to hear more opinions as I like to usually only buy in bulk quantities.
