Sorry guys, new to vaping. I'm wondering what's the right mix of PG : VG. Like which (PG / VG) is responsible for amount of vapour and what's the other one responsible for? Throat hit? I'm trying to see if I can get the right balance to mimic smoking experience (trying to quit....). Finding it hard when you have to specify yourself when you're ordering juice online.

Thanks in advance!

PG gives the throat hit and the flavor.

Most of the better juices are 60/40 or 70/30 PG/VG

start there... find something you are happy with and then start working your way to a lower PG content if you feel you need to tweek.

no matter what!!! remember to hydrate a lot, PG leeches water out of your body.

going too much VG has its own set of problems because it is thicker, a lot of devices will wick slow or poorly.

Like FRT said, PG gives throat hit and carries flavor the best. VG has the potential for more vapor production, but is much thicker. It is quite easy to get 'dry' hits with VG, thus burning your wick material and tasting awful if you're not experienced in it's use. Welcome to the forums! Keep reading and tooting and before ya know it, you'll be in hog heaven! :D

I'd say start at 50/50 then try different ones or go to a shop and try it. Everyone is different. For me, 100% VG or 80% VG 20% PG is best for me. I don't react well to PG. I'll say VG can dehydrate you too quick so drink a lot of water. I'll agree with the dry hits like QBass said haha it happens too often when I don't pay attention. I use RDAs for what it's worth, but I know some people on YouTube have videos on how to vape higher VG in tanks, but I don't use tanks at all.

I'd say that's really a personal preference thing. I have found I prefer juices with more VG. I may be slightly pg sensitive though.

As far as the throat hit, sure PG impacts it more than VG, but the nicotine content is going to have a much bigger impact and is the main factor to throat hit. Another thing the ratio will effect is how thick the liquid is and thus the wicking action.

My vote is 65%vg 35% pg

edit: wanted to add vg is known to be slightly sweeter. I think it makes the vape smoother too. And although I don't consider myself a cloud chaser or someone trying to fog up a whole room, I do like some good visual feedback that I'm getting good amounts of vape and all my gadgets are functioning top notch. VG does produce more visually "cloudy" vapor
