VG = produces much more vapor than PG

PG = performs better in cartomizers (less thick)

These two things I know to be true.

The throat hit issue...I've always equated that to nic level, however PG juices seem to have a bit of an extra kick, however I've no basis in fact for that.

When I first started, I was PG only. VG tasted terrible when mixed, and it was only recently that VG lines have become widespread and common by many vendors. Recipes have greatly improved, along with flavor. I find myself vaping more and more VG, and enjoying every minute of it.

Throat hit to me means COUGH! I'm good when the atomizer is doing its job and creating lots of vapor, but when its off, it's a throat killer.

50/50 is a good compromise for me. In some liquids, the stronger tasting ones, 100% VG is fine. 555 is one of those. I will add a few drops of chocolate or vanilla to smooth out some of the tobacco flavors that are edgy.

Vendors will state whether or not a juice is VG.

If no information is listed, it's default most likely that the juice is PG based.

Switched it right....if you attempt to use 100 percent VG juice in a cartomizer it takes forever for the juice to be absorbed into the filler. It's just too thick. You can vape it, but it's not the most satisfying.

Unless the VG is diluted 4/1 with distilled water, VG liquids are too thick to be effectively used in cartos. It doesn't wick properly.

Just today I discovered a problem using 100 percent VG in a cartomizer and vaping on my eGO. Tasted fine for about 5 inhales, then starts tasting burnt. Had to toss that carto because I couldn't get rid of the burnt taste. Tried a new one and filling using the condom method, but that doesn't seem to work at all because the liquid is too thick. It won't absorb while you push it down...no matter how slowly you go. So then I filled it using the old drop method...I put the VG in slowly, gave it some time to settle, filled again. But apparently it still didn't fill all the way as soon after, it was dry again and starting to burn. I may try filling, then let it set overnite, and then filling again. But I think switched and bornagainst have this correct, VG and cartomizers are not too compatible unless you dilute them. I haven't tried the 510s from epuffs, however, so I might give that a go to see what happens.

I don't think the problem is how slowly or quickly you're filling the carto, but how quickly you're vaping. The atomizer is in the center of the carto and will vape off all the juice that is immediately surrounding it. It takes time for the juice to wick in from the outer edges. The reason you're burning your carto is because the innermost filler next to the atomizer coil is dry. Try taking more time between puffs or adding a few drops of distilled water to your juice.

I don't really think I vape that quickly. Tho it may have sounded that way now that I've reread my post (apparently, I'm not the best communicator). I usually take one vape off my eGO and then don't go back to it for another 10-15 minutes. Four or five vapes will usually take me an hour. But since I don't really have a point of reference on this...is that a lot? Will definitely try adding distilled water. That may help. Thanks!

No that is not a lot, as a matter of fact you would be considered a very light vaper. with emphasis on the very LOL. (nothing wrong with that).

VG is naturally thick (thicker than PG). Before VG hit the street, e-liquids when they came about were the consistency of PG. The filler material developed was for that consistency, not that of VG, so of course the material will hold it in suspension and won't allow it to wick properly.

100% VG mixes may be great for dripping but they suck for use in carts and cartos. They simply do not wick properly unless the viscosity of the liquid has been reduced, and what I found as many was 4/1, with some going 5/1 VG/H2O or PGA.

Unless you are allergic to PG a mixture of 80/20 PG/VG is just about right for use undiluted for cart use. Any higher and you need to cut it 4/1 (VG).

Many are vaping cartos at HV, unless the resistance is designed for HV, you will burn the inner sleeve and batting, even with the appropriate resistance, there is no guarantee you will not burn the sleeve. This is why many folks get turned off with cartos.

As we all vape differently, one size does not fit all. I hope this helps.
